The Cedar Cabin @ River's Edge Bed & Breakfast

Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge Bed & Breakfast offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Each day includes 2 made-from-scratch Breakfasts & coffee (up to a $26 value). Dog and cat friendly. Smart TV. Free wi-fi available.
The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water, as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with covered tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public with the exception of serving the B&B cabins). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guest access
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure. There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.
Other things to note
We offer a contact-free, COVID-friendly checkin. Very kid friendly. Very pet friendly. Smoking & vaping permitted on cabin deck and outside public areas, but not in cabins please. We ask that breakfast orders be placed by 9pm the night before. Our breakfasts are homemade and we provide locally-sourced coffee in the cabin. Smart TV in cabin. Free Wi-Fi.

Exactly what we needed

We enjoyed our stay. We wanted a quiet, peaceful, relaxing time; and that was what we had. We loved sitting on the porch watching the river flow past and enjoyed watching the barges. The breakfast was amazing. It was great food and such a large amount that the 2nd morning we shared one breakfast and was still full.

Cozy pit stop in Gallipolis

Great communication from the owners who gave very detailed directions to get there as I was coming in after dark. Comfortable bed after a long drive in and delicious omelets delivered to your door in the morning. Great stay! Thanks

Perfect Getaway

Cozy cabin with plenty of sleeping space. Good little beach for fishing if the river is low enough. Easily accessible and has all the necessary amenities. It’s awesome to not need to go somewhere else for breakfast and to have it delivered to your cabin is top tier.

The owner Chris, his wife Rebecca and Gena are the nicest people you will ever meet. Gena makes the best breakfast and is awesome at what she does. I highly recommend this place

Quick trip to Gallipolis

We were in town for a 2 day volleyball tournament. We booked this place because it was reasonably priced and only 10 minutes from Gallipolis and 20 minutes from The Root gym. The only thing that could have been better was warmer weather to sit out on the deck. The cabin was beautiful on the inside, perfect for our quick stay and the beds were super cozy. The hostess and her family are absolutely the sweetest and our homemade breakfast that they delivered was delicious!! We will stay here again next time we are in town!

Enjoyable stay. We arrived late at night. Key code worked well. Cabin was clean. Comfortable bed. They even had a soft, fluffy blanket for the dog. Next morning, we had a great view of the Ohio River

Cozy Cabin

We booked this B&B so we would be close to the Gallapolis Christmas lights. It was a perfect location right on the Ohio River. We got there early before check in and was aloud to check in. We enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the tugboats and barges float by.

This cute cabin is great. It is very clean. The beds are super comfy. I am 6'3 and slept in the bunkbed and it was long enough and wide enough to give me a great night sleep. The bedding is high end and cozy. The deck is right over the Ohio river - great views. The courtyard area is clean with new outdoor furniture. I also loved that in the Welcome manual they said that they don't have a lot of rules. I hate when you check into a place and there are 10 pages of rules and common sense reminders. (You won't find that here.) The best part of the entire stay was breakfast. It was the best meal of our entire week long trip through WV!

I'll be honest, I was a little iffy once we pulled into the property. It's a "blink and you'll miss it" sort of place, but definitely don't miss it. The cabin looked lackluster on the outside, but inside it was genuinely amazing. The cedar walls looked (and smelled) great. The whole cabin was nicely appointed. The bed was extremely comfy and cozy. Temperature was comfortable and easily adjustable. A REAL coffee maker with a local selection of coffees. Breakfast was easy to order, delivered on time and delicious! The shower is small, but gets plenty hot and the bathroom was stocked better than most hotel rooms. The Welcome book was very helpful! It's a bit out of the way (we were visiting the Mothman Museum 20min away), but definitely worth the trip!

Cute, lakeside spot!

Loved our stay, my only wish is that we had had more time to enjoy it! Lovely little deck with a view. Surprisingly spacious but still cozy. Breakfast was timely and generous. Will return.

Convenient with a view

Cute little cabins with a beautiful view of the river, we came out this way for the mothman museum and statue but we were able to explore hocking hills state park, Huntington WV and even hopped over to Ashland KY for a few hours. We would definitely stay again!

The cedar cabin was the perfect overnight get a away. It was so quiet and peaceful and view of the river was relaxing and beautiful. Everything was exceptionally clean and the owners had all the basics and then some covered. Breakfast was to die for and everyone was so pleasant. Wonderful experience. Would definitely visit again.

We just stayed a night as we were driving through, but easily could've stayed longer! Kind, communicative hosts; yummy breakfast; great guide to the local area; beautiful view! Sleeping 6 is probably a bit tight because of the loft, but we had a great time and would definitely stay again. Just be mindful that it's a bit far from a lot of other services.definitely
