"When we walked in, the lady at the front desk (Bonnie?) was very welcoming and helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The pool and hot tub and gym were perfect for our family. I used the lovely office area to get some business done on one of the computers. Internet access was easy. "It's 20 minutes to the Redwood Forrest and 20 minutes to the Eureka Skywalk. Had good standard breakfast with waffles, yogurt, fruit cearal and coffee. Love that they make recycling easy. Would stay again."

"Great historic hotel and great price. Right in the center of Arcata Plaza - so lots of cute shopping and restaurants. The sushi place connected to the hotel was tasty. The room we had suited our needs and the bathroom had great water pressure. Our "view" faced the other rooms and part of the roof which was a bummer but we also didn't hear any of the street noise. "

"We did not plan ahead and needed a place to stay on the 4th of July. This gem of a propert had a room open at a decent price! The front desk staff had no customer service skills or information on the breakfast offered or pool. We were able to see the fireworks from our room which was a great suprise. The breakfast was horrible very few options and messy."

"Checking in the owner gives you a tour and provides the history of the property and the area around the property. She is an excellent host. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If you like historic mansions this is an opportunity to stay the night on one. The owner is also looking to open a restaurant and I look forward to returning. "

"Fun little motel. Our room was a good size. Huge bathroom. There was even a kitchenette with fridge, hand sink, and microwave. We had the bottom floor. Not the motels fault but the family with 2 children above us were so loud that i had to let them know. Dad apologized and we were just fine after that. Btw i waited until 11pm. Small parking lot but never had a problem getting one. Just a few blocks from old downtown and harbor."
