"Booked overnight stay as sailing from Southampton the next day. Lovely place, well equipped, clean and great situation. "We found The Duke to be 5star. Everything was perfect, especially the delightful young staff. Always smiling and very helpful. Decor was very sophisticated and stylish. All the meals were delicious and served on lovely hot plates!!!!!!!!! We will definitely return for another break. Thank you Duke team."

"Excellent, efficient restaurant. Only critique is the lack of a fridge in the room. We had a fire alarm at 6:30am because someone took a shower with the bathroom door open. Despite notice on door so it must be a frequent false alarm."

"My husband and I stayed here the night before our cruise and again the night after, our room on both nights were quiet as they were on the 3rd and 4th floor. the bed was a king bed and very comfortable and even though there was a glass door to the bathroom it was still private. The check in staff were very helpful and pleasant. There is a starbucks in the hotel which is perfect for a nice tea or coffee and a snack. "I stay in around 100 places each year for work and this was bad. Poor quality fittings and fixtures vey well used. No soap, shower door didn’t close, toilet on some kind of strange plinth. Laminate falling to bits. No Freeview or terrestrial tv, streaming only but WiFi is so bad it doesn’t work at peak times 2 mattresses on bed bottom one very grubby I think it’s a converted garage. May suit someone with low standards I ended up leaving after 2 nights stayed last night elsewhere "

"Over all a good trip. For what I paid my accommodation was adequate. A very good price. I bought the money in an envelope to give to them personally. But no one to give the money to. It is fine I have the money with me. I will have to put in to my bank account on Tuesday then I will phone to pay for my stay. I would stay again "
