  • Another of Folly's Best! Zen on the East End is a gem. This updated one bedroom apartment is located on the second floor of a private home. The views are amazing so much so you may never want to leave. There is a private entrance and unobstructed long range ocean views. Go down one flight of stairs and across the large deck to the sandy public beach. There is a hammock on the walk way too for a great relaxing time with a book. With a king bed updated shower and amazing views Zen on the East End will become a favorite getaway for couples. Have a little one or are you young at heart? Zen on the East End has a built in playground! Zen on The East End allows up to 2 well-behaved, house-broken, flea-treated dogs with approval. Please include the breed and size of your dogs when you inquire. All photos are current and accurately depict the property. Please book with confidence. This property is licensed by city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental: LIC005068. Because of the potential of fraud we would not recommend booking a property not licensed by the city of Folly Beach as a vacation rental.

This waterfront property was perfect for a quiet, relaxing vacation with our dogs. The fencing area was divided into different sections which allowed private fenced area for our dogs which was amazing.

Welcoming with great views

We had a wonderful stay at Zen of the Wast End. We enjoyed the decor and the views from the deck were beautiful. Comfortable and inviting, the place had everything we needed. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful views and everything we needed

We really enjoyed the property. You can’t beat the beach view and access. The interior of the property is cute and easy to stay in. Property manager was wonderful throughout.

Explanation of how to open lockbox would be useful; lighting on bottom of stairs (not all the way up) only; unable to secure gate so that cinder blocks had to be used to keep it from banging in the wind at night; there were no window screens, so we couldn't open the windows; there were no closets; the vacuum cleaner did not work and no broom or dust pan was provided; access to beach went through adjoining tenants property.

Relaxation with soundtrack!

Came here in February! Perfect for indoor beach watching and listening without getting too cold! Loved the parking spot and access to the beach!Would have like to have more secure internet connection for work purposes. Bed is soft.

Everything was as advertised great place great location. We are already figuring out when we can return. The only issue we had was arriving late in the dark it was a little difficult to follow directions to get the key in the lock box.

Perfect spot!

My husband and I just got home from a quick little getaway. It was the most perfect little place. Exactly what we needed. Lovely views of the ocean and such a cheery bright apartment! Wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Obviously the beach is the main attraction but also where you lay your head matters as well and over all we found the Zen a good place to recharge. There were a few things we felt that could use some attention mainly for safety reasons listed here:1. Night lighting when going between vehicle and the physical entrance should be addressed. Understanding the situation where bright lights are not welcome for the beach, but the timer currently in place needs to be adjusted to at least a few minutes vice seconds. The other lighting issue is lack of one at the entrance to allow you even see to unlock the door. 2. There was no hot water at the kitchen sink (making the dishwasher not useable) which led us to the small leak under the sink. 3. The place needs some TLC as indicated in previous reviews such as the table and chairs, instructions for all the remotes, instructions for the thermostat, greasing the main entrance sliding door. All in all, it was still a good stay even though not our impression of a ZEN.

Quick weekend stay

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is chill and great access for beach! Our only complaints are the Air Conditioning was inadequate, the bathroom window needs a cover (sun was blinding in the morning), the bathroom sink didn’t drain well. Some trash bags and Kleenex would be helpful.

Great oceanfront view & access

Superb beachfront location with entire frontage floor-to ceiling-windows. Fenced yard. Great location for 2 labradoodles with private beach access. Somewhat rustic amenities but certainly clean & adequate. Prompt response from on-site rental company with question about window shade operation. Would definitely book again!

July vacation

Perfect size for a couple. I didn't realize how close to the Washout it was on the 13th block so the beach was much busier than we're used to but it was entertaining to sit on the top deck and watch all the surfers. Loved the record player and functioning tub on the deck. Parking spot/pad fit our large SUV. One of the only places we've ever rented that gives you more than enough bath towels for your stay.

Return to Folly

What a great place. Leave the door open to wake up and fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean. Take a Warm outdoor tub under the moon. We had such a relaxing and enjoyable time. Walk right off the deck to the beach. Apartment was clean with everything needed for an easy week. Found the price to be very fair for the view and access. Bed and shower were great and the entire dwelling was even more comfortable than the pictures represented. With gratitude.

Cold first night

Check in was difficult finding the key was hard and had to contact the manager, lighting is nonexistent going up the stairs and made it dangerous. There are two remotes to work the heating it took to the next day to turn on the heat very cold night.
