Elk Horn Cabin is a stunning 2600 ft² log cabin nestled on 5 acres of secluded, tranquil grounds with sweeping views of the San Francisco Peaks; Surrounded by thousands of tall, whispering Ponderosa Pines. Meandering paths lead to children's play areas, sledding hills and wandering adventures!

Other things to note
* The cabin is extremely close to downtown - but is tucked away at the very end of a 2 mile unpaved road. The last 300 yards of road that leads to the driveway is a hill that CAN REQUIRE 4WD OR SNOW CHAINED TIRES between the months of November - March. If you rent between November and March and arrive in a Toyota Prius - you will still be responsible for finding a way to vacate the property at the end of your stay if it snows!!

* The cabin is a hand-built, 30-year-old log retreat nestled deep in the woods. While it has been completely modernized and is regularly treated for pests, the surrounding nature sometimes finds its way indoors.

* Water at the cabin is supplied by a private cistern fed by a state of the art potable rain-water catchment system that converts all the water at the cabin to purified, drinkable water. The capacity of the tank is ample, but can and will run out of water with long-term excessive water use. Short showers are especially appreciated - as we have a super high-efficiency tankless water heater that delivers hot water within 30 seconds of demand.

* There are two security cameras outside. At the front door and on the side of the house pointing at the driveway. These cameras are used solely to protect our guests and our home.

* Our property backs up to State Land and the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. A short hike down our property and you can access the trail system and explore it all the way to downtown.

* Elk Horn Cabin is an heirloom family home that is deeply loved and cared for. It is not owned or managed by a big company making huge rental profits. Please care for the home as you would your own so that our children - and their children - can continue to enjoy it for generations to come.

The cabin is tucked into a stunning, quiet setting surrounded by tall pines, giving you that perfect “away from it all” feeling, while still being close enough to Flagstaff for anything you need. Waking up to crisp mountain air and serene forest views made every morning feel special.Inside, the cabin is incredibly comfortable and thoughtfully designed. You can tell real care has gone into every detail, from the furnishings to the finishes and overall layout. Our stay at this cabin was absolutely amazing! We had everything we needed and then some! I think this is the best one we’ve stayed at so far and we have been going up once a year for the past four years and this one was it for us! We will definitely book for our next trip!

This cabin is amazing. It has a classic feel with modern appointments. The kitchen, bathrooms, and basement are perfect for entertaining. The bedrooms are comfortable and inviting.The outdoor areas have plenty of seating and open spaces to relax. Couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy a restful break.

Our stay at Elk Horn Cabin was the best we’ve ever had. Communication with our host Bridget was easy and seamless. She was extremely responsive to all questions and provided helpful advice on the area. The amenities at the cabin were fantastic and all our needs were anticipated, from a well stocked kitchen, to toiletries for the bathroom, and amazingly comfy and beautiful bedding and linens. We loved the decor and coziness all around! The cabin is close to town, yet tucked away in an idyllic spot nestled within the pines. The view of the San Francisco Peaks is amazing from the back deck. We can’t wait to return and hope to make this at least an annual spot for our family.

My wife and I highly recommend Elk Horn cabin for a relaxing vacation. The location is in a countryside pine forest, but not a remote area. The cabin is comfortable, well maintained and well furnished. It is certainly one of the cleanest places we have rented. Housekeeping does an excellent job of cleaning and preparing the cabin. The property manager, Bridget, provides great communication, information and instructions. Our entire experience was professional, courteous and genuine. Morning coffee on the patio with cool mountain air and birds singing is very relaxing in the summer. The drive to Flagstaff is only 10 minutes where you can find plenty of restaurants and shopping distractions. Sedona, Oak Canyon, Petrified Forest and the Grand Canyon make great day trips.

Great Family Experience

Family of 5 for Spring Break. House was had everything we could have asked for. Private location just outside the town, no detailed spared by the host, and lived up to everything in the description. It did snow a lot while we were there and 4-wheel drive (as the host suggest) is needed in the winter months.

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin is so beautiful and clean. We loved being out in the woods and able to visit Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Beds and sheets were very comfortable.

Only place we will ever stay again, in Flagstaff.

We had an absolutely wondering ski trip to Flagstaff, thanks to this cabin. It had so much more than we expected (full kitchen - we never even went out to eat, as we could make everything there), wine fridge, the most comfortable beds, game room downstairs, huge TVs to log into your apps with, amazing fire pit with tons of seating outside, comfortable furniture, high tech/push button lighting/fans/alarm/doors/etc which was very cool. You can tell the entire place was gutted and redone to an immaculate woods cabin feel with some nice modern touches (master bath was amazing). Huge loft area for kids to get away from the adults :-), several patios with doors leading inside, and 5 acres of perfectly manicured pine trees to explore in (we were lucky and had 6” of snow or so, so our boys loved using the sleds that they provided!!). Couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else - and we will be back for sure!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

Close enough to town, but far enough into the woods to be more secluded and have a true camp like experience. House was clean and stocked with more than we expected (coffee, seasonings, etc.) We we’re pleasantly surprised. The basement was a hit with our teenagers! Bridget was a great host, very responsive! We left a few items there and she shipped them back to us right away. Will be back 5 star!

Best Cabin I’ve Stayed At

This place was amazing. It has everything you can possibly need and then some. It was very clean and the decor was just right with not a lot of clutter. There are several places to hang out and that was perfect because the kids can go downstairs and it’s noise proof :-) I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because it’s just exceptional. Bridget is very responsive and was so kind to leave us a welcome basket with a personal note. This was such a nice touch. The outdoor area was great for hanging out by the fire and letting the kids play in the swings and ropes course. We will definitely be back! We enjoyed our stay here and it was the relaxing vacation we had hoped for and more. Thank you Elk Horn Cabin until next time!

5 stars isnt enough!

The home is impeccably cared for and designed beautifully. Decor is comfortable and homey but with a luxurious feel, no clutter anywhere. Best equipped kitchen of any rental so far, with plenty of nice plates and anything you need to cook, bake and BBQ. My kids adored the selection of Keurig pods and I loved the butlers pantry for storing all our food out of sight. We had evenings around the firepit and games and movies in the TV room. The house is sized so well, plenty of room for everyone and space to tuck in, away from the family for a quick nap or book time. I could go on and on..... like the nesting chickadees on the patio and another in the trees. We even had a rare porcupine sighting one night. Nature loves the neighborhood- plenty of deer and squirrels too. All the perks of a remote location, but you are minutes from downtown! Awesome hikes right out the door. Lastly, but most importantly, there is Bridget, the lovely hostess. She left a sweet little snack and gift basket along with a great little book of thinks to do and information on the house. We messaged back and forth a bit, and I found her to be responsive, friendly and capable of solving any issues, though we had an issue free stay. I had mentioned that a makeup mirror would be helpful in the bathroom and she let me know they have already added them!!! Thanks Bridget! We will be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Flagstaff Cabin

Wife graduated from NAU, so we wanted to get the Flagstaff experience. This property definitely delivered. It was comfortable, clean, and plenty of space. The outdoor area is where this place shines. Overall, we had an amazing experience.

Escape to Tranquility: A Review of Elk Horn Cabin in Flagstaff, AZ

Nestled in the heart of lush, towering pines, Elk Horn Cabin is a treasure waiting to be discovered. My family and I recently enjoyed an unforgettable stay and I must say, it was everything we could have hoped for and more! The cabin itself is a cozy haven designed with an eye for detail. Inside, the cabin is beautifully decorated, combining luxurious modern amenities with rustic touches that truly bring the outdoors in. We loved all of the different gathering spaces and felt right at home. Our family loved the air hockey and shuffleboard in the game room. The high-speed Starlink internet, kept us dialed in (if needed). One of our favorite aspects of Elk Horn Cabin was the availability of outdoor activities right in its backyard. We particularly loved the outdoor smokeless fire pit and playground. Our children could not get enough of the creative obstacle course. The stunning view of the snow-capped mountain must also be mentioned. We ventured into town for lunch at the Lumberyard and our children loved the nearby Our stay at Elk Horn Cabin was nothing short of magical. The natural beauty, coupled with the beautiful design and amenities, made for an unforgettable escape. We cannot wait to return, to once again immerse ourselves in the serenity and bliss that Elk Horn Cabin offers. If you're in search of a peaceful retreat just N of Flagstaff, look no further than this idyllic haven!

Gorgeous Cabin - Absolutely Amazing Family Vacation!!

If you're wanting an amazing family or friends trip to Flagstaff, this is the perfect place! The owner has thought of everything! Impeccably clean, anything you might need is provided. 3 living rooms with fluffy blankets, fireplaces and smart TV's...air hockey, shuffle board, smores, sledding, snowman building, games, books, etc...There was a major snowstorm right before we arrived, but they had the driveway cleared, entrances all cleared and even dug out the adriondack chairs and firepit! We made smores and kept warm by the fire. The cabin is professionally decorated and is so beautiful inside - everywhere you look it's like a postcard! We all slept so well in the brand new beds and linens - there are soft blankets everywhere! We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again - one of the very best VRBO properties we've ever stayed in. The directions and communication with Bridget, the owner, was fantastic. Very quick and kind responses. This is definitely a place to unplug, unwind and make some memories!!

Perfect getaway for the entire family!

Elk Horn cabin is a beautiful property. From the moment we booked this property to the time we left; we had a great experience. The host is responsive and incredibly accommodating. The pictures do not do this property justice and the views are breathtaking. This cabin is beautifully decorated and super cozy. It was perfect for our entire family, from the game room in the basement, to the fire pit, to the playground outdoors. Even though it had just snowed (which we were super excited for), the owner went above and beyond to make sure we were still able to use the amenities outdoors and provided sleds for our kids to use on the property. Bridget, thank you for everything and we look forward to staying here again in the near future!
