We came up here to fish for the weekend and this place had all the necessary amenities and served our purpose well. Clean place and well stocked with all the needs. Will stay again.

Ice Fishing Getaway

Great cabin for our group to stay for our ice fishing trip. Located close to several key spots. Parking is a little tight with trailer but manageable.

Great getaway

We had a wonderful time at the property. You could see the star very well even with Lansing, IA nearby. The amenities provided were wonderful. Also, watching the trains race past at night was very relaxing.

Beautiful cabin and environment!

Enjoyed spending a long weekend in this cozy cabin. Very clean and "home-y". Will definitely be visiting again soon. The only downside was that the power and water shut off before the check-out time. Other than that, a wonderful stay!

Great and will come back with friends and family

The place is in a great location and very well kept.It is definitely a diamond in the rough. Also a great location for fishing, campaign and beautiful scenery. The décor and amenities were perfect. Highly recommended for family and friends. We will be back!

Wish it hadn't rained all week.

Cabin was very clean and well stocked with extra things like coffee, spices, shampoo, games, etc. We only used one bedroom but bed was comfortable. Giving 4 stars as sofa and loveseat were really uncomfortable. Wish we could have had better weather.

It was a nice accommodation with interesting furnishings. Access is a little tight off the road. Trains were a little bit much, frequency and noise.

River Rat

The place was very nice, and we would stay there again and recommend to friends. We have been staying along this stretch of river for over 40 years now and we just can't get enough of its beauty. After 40 years the train is still there and yes, they make noise, please don't come and expect it not too! If you want absolute quite this is not your kind of place,If you want total serenity this is.

Very accurate description of the cabin. As noted, it is next to the train track, but that was disclosed. One inconvenience was the number of Japanese beetles, but it’s that time of year. The owners left a note about them and a small vacuum. Better insulation around the window A/C units might help keep more of them out of the bedrooms. Overall, the rental met our expectations and the location was great for our family wedding.

Clean, comfortable, charming cabin

We loved our stay here! The cabin is beautiful, and we enjoyed the rustic charm. We also loved all the thoughtful touches, like games, movies, and the fully stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and felt very new. Driving here was beautiful! We had campfires both nights - it was really nice. We visited the lock to the south and saw bald eagles and pelicans! The kids got frisbees from the engineer there. We drove down to Wyalusing State Park for hiking and beautiful views.

Cabin is charming with wildlife decor and completely updated. The 'duplex' is separated by a very thin wall. We could hear the conversations of the guests in the other rental. We could not see the river, nor access the river from the site. The 'active' train is 100 feet from the cabin (we measured), with trains running all night long. The trains kept us up all night. We did not get any sleep and cancelled our second night to go home and rest. Beautiful cabin, horrible location.

Great interior, less than ideal location.

The interior of the cabin is exactly as pictured. It was very nicely appointed and was impecably cleaned. It's obvious that the owners really care about keeping the cabin looking like new. Our stay was lessened only by the location. The property is sandwiched between a busy highway and very active railroad tracks with frequent trains day and night. Didn’t make for the peaceful getaway we had hoped for. The location did provide easy access to the river and many of the areas atractions.

We originally thought we were renting the entire cabin but quickly realized we were renting just half of the cabin upon arriving. I will read future VRBO descriptions much more carefully next time. My mistake! It was a very nice cabin next to a train and road in the middle of God's country (WI). We drove alot and took looks around. It was a great time!! Thank you!! Theresa and Bob

beautiful cabin

We had a great relaxing time. The tracks were pretty busy but we did not mind. Beautiful interior and great porch we sat under and watched the storm come in. The bluffs and the river are gorgeous. Love this part of the state.

Noisy

Property is right on the major road and train tracks right behind it. It's more of apartment made to look like a cabin. It's very noisy with traffic and trains. The beds were not the best and forget about sitting outside because of the gnats and mosquitoes that invaded the house as well. Pack lot of bug spray is my advice. Best part was the Wooden Nickel Saloon and Swing Inn in Ferryville.
