The house and the heated pool (with new pool liner) is set back from the village of Espelette in a peaceful location. At the same time, the village is walking distance. Conveniently located between Biarritz / ocean beaches and St Jean Pied de Port and just 10 minutes to the Spanish border.

A traditional 5 bedroom Basque house. The house starts up a flight of stairs that you access from the driveway. At the top of the stairs, you will find a large outdoor terrace with a dining table for 10 and a comfortable sitting area. There is an awning so you can enjoy the terrace all day long.

Once inside, there is a spacious full equipped kitchen with another table for 10. There is also a large counter that can be used as additional cooking, dining space. The kitchen windows overlook the bucolic backyard and fields beyond.

Downstairs there is a living room with a TV that opens to the terrace, a dining room with a table for 8 and a toilet room. The first bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet and a 160 cm / queen bed) is on this floor.

Upstairs, there are two large bedrooms each with a 160 cm / queen bed and a 80 cm bed under the eaves of the house. One of the other bedrooms has a 140 cm / full bed. The final bedroom has 2 80 cm / twin beds (one of which is under the eave). In the hallway there is a toilet room and a room with a bath tub, a shower and a large washer /dryer with a double sink.

Outside there is a heated pool (heating issues have been fixed) with a private terrace that has plenty of space to relax after a day sightseeing. The outdoor kitchen has a plancha, cooking space and a dining tables. For added convenience, there is also an outdoor shower and sink. The pool typically open from mid-April through October.

In the parking area, there is a fronton / handball court and a basketball net.

Private parking is available on the driveway in front of the house.

There is a private apartment on the ground floor of the house. It has a separate entrance. There is no shared space.

You will have the convenience of the calm area that is a 15-20 minute walk to the center of Espelette.

Espelette is centrally located as a base for exploring Basque Country. There are many wonderful windy country roads where you pass wild horses called Pottoka, lots of sheep and cows and of course, growing piment d’Espelette.

-- Cambo Les Bains with famous spas and Arnaga the house of Edmond Rostand (the author of Cyrano de Bergerac) is 10 minutes in one direction.

-- Dantxaria, Spain, with discount shopping, groceries and gasoline is just 10 minutes.

-- The ocean beaches and towns of Biarritz, Anglet and St Jean de Luz which are just 30 minutes away.

-- San Sebastian, Spain the gourmet capital of the world is an hour away.
