The Valle de Guadalupe wine region is still in its infancy but quickly expanding. If you ever thought about buying land and planting your own vineyard, now is the time here. In general it feels like they are still trying to figure out what grape varietal grows best in what areas of the valley here. But the wines are still enjoyable to drink and the food offerings are simply amazing; from the Troika food truck at Vena Cava to Fauna restaurant at Bruma. Exceptional. And don’t forget to change it up a little with some exquisite mezcal cocktails at the garlic-shaped building of Bloodlust.
Hotel Contemplación is a beautiful property that feels like it is in the center of everything in the Valley. The modern individual cabins are fully-stocked and situated on a hill overlooking the valley with rocks, natural vegetation, and vineyards running through them with well-lit pathways up to the pool (with an amazing view), or down to the restaurant. Aside from the massive amounts of birds singing and an occasional dog barking in the distance, the nights here are very quiet, and stars are extremely vibrant. The property is gated-in with a security guard at the entrance and another walking the property, so we felt 100% safe here for anyone who is concerned about that. But quite honestly, we saw nothing on our trip that made us feel uneasy. The staff were super-friendly.
Plan a trip to Valle for a few days (weekdays are much less crowded than the weekends), and stay at Contemplación.
