We had a power failure at the hotel between 9 pm and 12:30 am. There was no backup generator, the emergency lights did not come on. The hallways were completely dark. The phone in room was not working nor did the front desk response when I tried to contact them using my cell phone. The surrounding area had electricity and didn't know why we didn't have power. I also verified via my cell phone the power outage map for the Edmundston, NB area and nothing had been reported. Nor, was there any outages reflected on the map. The room was getting extremely hot and I was unable to open the windows. When the power finally came back I asked at the front desk what happen, they blamed it on the rain. My room was on the 3rd floor and I have mobility issues, I didn't know how I would get down the stairs if the power hadn't come back. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of communication from the staff and not knowing when (and if) the power would come back. The hotel did not honor it's commitment to provide, the necessary items listed on there website. We should be compensated for lack of services provide.
