We booked this house for the weekend because we had a wedding near by. The house was great and matched the listing perfectly! My husband and I spoke about renting in the summer as it is perfect for quick access to the lake and would make such a fun hangout for a long weekend!

Very clean! The host made it easy to check in and out as well ask questions. The kitchen is stocked with coffee, paper towels, filtered water, and many kitchen gadgets as well as a gas grill so we could make our own food. There isn’t much nearby to get groceries/food or get quick things you forgot but the location is serene, quiet, and relaxing. The home is not spacious, but it is comfortable with a nice TV in the living room and primary bedroom. The beds and couches are comfy to hang out on. We visited with 4 adults, 1 infant, and 1 dog and everyone enjoyed it.

Big Oak Hideaway

We had a WONDERFUL stay at Big Oak Hideaway! The home was spotless (and cool) and inviting when we got there - perfect for our stay. It was quiet and restful which is just what we needed while visiting extended family in Alabama. Giving us a place to rest and rejuvenate. Gerry, our local host, was amazing. He was attentive and answered any and all questions promptly and courteously. We couldn't have asked for a better host.

Nice - bathroom problem and alarm

The house was clean and nice and met our needs. Hand soap was missing or didn't work in bathrooms. Needs an over the door rack towel rack to hang wet towels. in the bathrooms. The big problem was in the hall bathroom. We noticed when we arrived and used that bathroom in the hall that there was a leak under the sink. I looked at it and the plumbing was really poorly done in that bathroom. We placed a container under the pipes to catch the water. We weren't there much, just sleeping. However on Sunday morning the we were leaving my son used the sink and alarms started going of really loud even coming from the sound bar in the living room. There was a water leak detector under the sink, it had al ready rusted a bit and was beeping. We're not sure whether the water alarm caused the loud alarm in the whole house or not but it lasted about 10 minutes and woke everyone up at 5:15 am. We would appreciate some kind of refund for this inconvenience and chaos.
