  • This property is the perfect destination for your family’s needs and desires! Enjoy gorgeous views, multiple sitting areas, private bedrooms, 8 fireplaces, 10 TVs, on-site laundry, and a spacious kitchen for meals and entertaining. The downstairs great room is a kid-friendly area for games or lounging on the sectional sofa and watching movies. The floor plan separates the kitchen from most bedrooms, ensuring quiet for early risers and sleepers. The mansion sleeps up to 20 guests with 5 private bedrooms/bathrooms (3 king beds, 2 queen beds) and a kids’ bunk room with bathroom downstairs (2 bunk beds with queen top and bottom, 1 futon bunk bed with twin on top).

    Need more space? Rent an additional area for 6-8 guests connected to the downstairs great room. This includes 2 private bedrooms (queen beds) and a living room area (2 futons).

    Weddings or large events are allowed for an additional charge, with a maximum of 50 guests (20 overnight). A separate contract is required—please contact Jessica for details.

    Summer months are ideal for boating, kayaking, and fishing. Bring your boat or rent our pontoon for a daily fee. Enjoy the large backyard for games and peaceful evenings around the campfire. Kayaks are complimentary for guest use and shared with our other property. We just ask that they’re returned after use so everyone can enjoy them.

    In winter, the mansion offers a cozy escape with fireplaces, ice fishing, snowshoeing, sledding, and snowmobiling.

    There is a 7-night minimum stay during summer months and a 4-night minimum stay during other months. Enjoy a 10% discount for weekly stays during fall, winter, and spring!

    We are located about 10 miles off interstate I-94. About 90 mins from St. Paul/Minneapolis (MSP Airport, Mall of America). Woodbury ,MN (Wood bury outlet malls) 45 mins away. Eau Claire, and Chippewa Falls are also about 45 minutes away. 15 minutes from down town Menomonie.

    Cottage Winery, Lucette Brewery , Golf courses, Red cedar Speedway, WoodWind Park, Hoffman Hills State Recreation, Valley Pasture Pumpkin Patch, Govin Farm and more family entertainment less than 15 mins away from this amazing property!!!

    There are nearby restaurants that are accessible by water or land. Jake's Supper Club, Pioneer Grill & Saloon and Elk Point Resort are easy access by boat or vehicle. Jake's has three decks and a fabulous Tiki bar over looking the lake with live bands every weekend in the summer months. Pioneer Bar & Grill is walking distance from Jake's Supper Club, in a country setting with great entertainment! Elk Point Resort has karaoke every Saturday night and put on the BEST firework show every year on July 3rd. Great food and fun atmosphere!

Best stocked kitchen of any VRBOs we have booked in the past, great central kitchen/dinning/seating location for large gatherings! We also liked the kayaks, yard games and lake views from the backyard. The numerous bedrooms with attached bathrooms was perfect for our group of teens to older grandparents. We also enjoyed nearby Menomonie with its downtown charm and nice grocery and other amenities.

Perfect get away

This was a great place for two families to share a long weekend with all of our adult kids. Everyone had their own space and at the same time there were so many nice common areas to gather. We ended up with great weather, but if it hadn’t been nice outside we would’ve spent more time in the game room. Everyone enjoyed the space and great memories were made.

Our stay was wonderful. We appreciated having a room that fit all of us and still gave us space as we needed it. It was a easy process made by the property manager Jessica. Our only suggestion is to clean under couch cushions, behind the headboards and to update the decor and some of the broken furniture. Yes we’d stay there again.

Most of us stayed at the Mansion last year, but we added a couple newcomers, eleven in all this year. We are a group of college (classes '72-'74) buddies and spouses, and we are already checking probable schedules for a return in '25. The place is perfect for a large, mixed group. We look forward to returning.

Perfect for our Family reunion

This is our second stay at the Mansion and we are already planning a return next year. Plenty of space to spread out inside and out. The spacious individually themed bedrooms each with their own bathrooms is a big plus for us. Huge kitchen with 2 large dining tables, fantastic game room add to the reasons why we are planning a 3peat. All I can add is….Enjoy, you will!

Spacious, well/appointed property with good wi-fi, great views. Pros: master bedroom was amazing, other bedrooms comparable to each other nice to have en suite bathrooms& decks on each. Plenty of kitchen items & spaceCons: mgmt requests no shoes indoors but floors didn’t feel clean, maybe due to ac struggling to keep up with space. Stairs down to water were mossy and uneven, could be challenging for some. Grassy area around dock lots of algae in Aug. Rented the pontoon along with the house, it wasn’t in great shape but reasonable for the price.Overall our group of 5 families would book here again. The views were beautiful & most spacious property we’ve booked together

Perfect house for up north winter trip.

The house was extremely clean and is even bigger than the description makes it seem. Plenty of clean towels (which is oddly uncommon at rental houses) along with clear instructions throughout the property. Great place for ice fishing, snow machines, and other winter activities. I’m sure summer is just as good!

Amazing!

We had 19 of us, all family. Loved the patio, the lake views, the house. Especially loved the number of semi-private areas for small conversations. The kitchen had lots of room (seated all of us) and more than ample kitchen supplies and appliances. 1 1/2 hours from MSP airport. I have already highly recommended this house and service to two friends who want to do the same thing.

This was a perfect fit for our family Great to have separate areas for sleeping, kids and adults play areas. Loved being able to cook and eat together and just relax Weather actually turned out better than expected Able to kayak, boat and fish, they weren’t biting A few issues with the electricity, power going on and off during the night, not good for c-pap users Didn’t appreciate not being able to go on the grass for a day because of lawn spraying. Each year we have 4 generations that spend an extended weekend together. This property was well maintained and plenty of room!!!! We were all able to have our own rooms and the game room was great!! Ping pong and pool add plenty of space for our Grandkids to run around! A few even ventured out on the kayaks! Would highly recommend!

Cradle at Tainter Lake

Our group of college friends and spouses have been getting together annually in different parts of the country, and this was the first time coming to the Upper Midwest. The property was everything it looked like in the listing and more. There were nine of us and we would/will return to the Mansion at Tainter Lake the next time we reunite up here.
