This studio is the perfect getaway for rest and relaxation. Enjoy time around the firepit, or reading in the homes large yard, with surrounded by thick woods. Throughout the yard, there are sculptures and other artwork that will spark your imagination. Inside, the studio has a rustic, woodsy vibe, with pops of artwork on the walls. The kitchenette is great for light cooking, and equipt with the tools you'll need.

What's nearby:
For hiking, Turtleback Mountain Preserve has a north and south trailhead that have beautiful views. A 20-minute drive away is Eastsound, and off of main street with many restaurants, and a grocery store. Starting the firstweek of May, Eastsound also has a farmers market with local foods, ciders, and goods.

Artist Studio stay

Very quiet and secluded studio on Orcas Island. The studio was about 10 minutes from the ferry terminal and 20 minutes away from Eastsound. The room was comfortable and quiet. Perfect for anyone wanting to get away from the city and spend some time in a beautiful part of the Pacific Northwest.

Cute, quaint place with a loud dehumidifier

Overall good stay, however the dang dehumidifier sounds like a lawnmower engine at 2am when youre trying to sleep. Otherwise, no complaints.

Perfect spot to stay on Orcas Island!

Great little apartment. It is definitely in the woods, quiet, and beautiful. The bed is comfortable and has all the amenities needed for a stay on Orcas Island.

Beautiful property and cozy stay. Studio is attached to main house but separated by a garage/work space so felt very private. So nice to sit in the big bay window and look out into the trees.

2 night stay with dog

Quiet place; the listing matches the property. The owner has a friendly boxer dog that was there to meet us. We had a dog ourselves, owners dog is very playful/friendly. I may offer a suggestion of keeping up on the dog poop in the yard. There was a significant amount of dog poop in the yard, which may be expected for your own residence but not necessarily a rental where other dogs are expected to be present.

Quiet, wooded property

The feel of camping but with comfort of beds, windows, hot shower, kitchenette and screens! As close to camping as I care to get anymore! Owner lives on site with his boxer and loves dogs! Perfect for them to run loose. A few short miles from the ferry. Easy drive anywhere on the island. A very enjoyable stay

Adorable little ethical rental.

We loved this location and had an amazing time! We especially loved the hosts dog, a friendly boxer who is usually around to greet you during your comings and goings.

Peace in the woods

Property location was relaxing and quiet. It is a bit out of town but not far from the ferry terminal. Probably best to arrive before dark, as location might be tricky to find. The owner and his dog were inviting and friendly. FYI...there are some resident sugar ants.

Don’t do it- keep scrolling

First of all this place is so far out with no reception what so ever. Community (yes community) is completely closed in with a gate, of course parking is outside gate. The attached studio had such a strong moldy smell that my husband was in there for 3 minutes and started coughing and sneezing. I’m thinking they have had a major leak issue for some time. We didn’t even unpack and left the property ASAP. Thinking we will sleep in the car somewhere if we have to. Now maybe this is someone’s ideal vacation rental but it wasn’t ours. Completely creeped out from the first hello.

Birthday Trip

It was fine until the water pump failed. We still have not received a discount on our trip! There were no other accommodations in all of Orcas, dog friendly, except one for $510 and another for $1,180/ night. Therefore, we had to stay and bring in our own water to drink and wash. Not very happy with how we are being treated. Thank you Sallie & Paul

Amazing hideaway tucked into a woodland forest, and beautiful outdoor artist creations to boot. Cozy and comfortable. One little bit of an upgrade would be to offer a coffee maker and coffee pods as an amenity. Magical!!

Awesome!

The owner was so friendly and we loved his dog Mick! Would highly recommend. It is in a secluded part of the island and the only downfall is having to drive pretty far to get to the towns and hikes.

We had a great stay at the artist studio! The resident dog Mick was very sweet and the location was super safe, quiet and remote. Only downside was the lack of kitchen amenities. There wasn’t any oil or any staples other than salt or pepper. The knife that they had was really blunt and it was difficult to use. The bed is pretty uncomfortable and sags in the center when you lay in it. My husband and I both woke up with back pain after sleeping there! On the positive side, the window was left open all day before we checked in and there weren’t any bugs. There was a dehumidifier and a small fan that made the atmosphere a lot more comfortable for sleeping.

It was a beautiful little cabin joined to a house, in a beautiful wooded property with a clear/open central area carpeted with beautiful mosses. It is an artist haven in the woods! Amazing art installations are scattered through the central yard. It is in a corner of the island that is quite, secluded, but close to the ferry terminal. The cabin has a full kitchen, fridge, and a plethora of books to help pass time! Our dog loved the area. While it is located next to the owner’s home who has a sweet friendly dog, we enjoyed privacy and quiet. The ferry terminal is 10mins away and East sound 20 minutes away.
