The Lower Deck Ocean Escape /Paddle Boards, Kayaks and Bikes

The Lower Deck sits overlooking the tranquil waters of Scotch Cove & just 5 min to the seaside Village of Chester where the famous Chester Yacht Races take place yearly. Everything you need for a restful holiday or fun in the ocean is here within mins. We are positioned only 6 min from the Nordic Sensea Spa, 3 min to Graves Island Provincial Park, 6 min to Chester golf Club, close to sandy beaches and a short walk to the Trans Canada Trail. Not to mention the great assortment of shops, Chester Playhouse Theatre and restaurants our village provides. Your hosts are conveniently located in the Upper Deck above you if you need anything looked after.
As for the Lower Deck itself, it is the perfect get away place for you, your family and friends. A swim in the Cove is a great way to begin the day. We provide 4 paddle boards, 2 kayaks and 2 bikes. There are stone steps that take you right down into the water or enter off the floating wharf.
After your day of activities you have a place to come back to for an evening barbecue with great cooking facilities or maybe an early evening nap on our cozy comfy beds before a movie or games night.
Kitchen includes: 2 burner stove top, lg airfryer oven, microwave, kettle, nespresso coffee maker and all the utensils, pots pans and dinner wear you would need.
Also we have a clothes iron and hair blower.
We love pets but regret at this time we are not equipped to accommodate them.
We love it here in Scotch Cove and really feel we need to share this year around retreat with others. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Lower deck

The Lower Deck at East Chester was a delight. The view was amazing, from every window to the deck outside. Everything that you would need for a comfortable stay was available. The couches and beds were amazing, and the day bed was a wonderful reading spot.

Great Place!

The pictures do not do this place justice! The lower deck was just perfect for us and the hosts went over and above to make our stay wonderful. From the fresh fruit to drinks in the frig, they really made us feel like we were at home. Though not a lot of restaurants around, the peace and quiet staying here more than made up for it. We found plenty in the area to eat and it was very convenient to get to the things in the area we were wanting to visit. We would 1000% stay here again.

A wonderful time in Nova cotia

Just on the outskirts of Chester, this place is like a home away from home. Peaceful, clean, and homey. The water is beautiful and the paddleboards provided were a lot of fun. We enjoyed using the barbecue and my daughter loved the wooden swing outside. Many peaceful moments here. They have boardgames to play too which my daughter was thrilled and we played almost all of them once. The beds were comfortable, bathroom spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There's a grocery store a close drive and Chester has some nice restaurants. It's also s short drive to various other towns (Lunenberg, Mahone Bay) and Halifax isn't far away either. We would love to stay there again if we visit Nova Scotia again. Art and Flora are great hosts and set your mind at ease as well.

Awesome all around

Awesome accomidations, great view. Had additional outdoor space also. Had everything we needed and more. Hosts were very pleasant, delivered coffee andbiscuits one morning, and lit the outdoor fire for us also. I would gladly rebook with them. Decor was beautiful, clean, very relaxing and inviting.

Exploring the Chester area in a peaceful place

Loved my stay at this ground level suite of a lovely home perched on a small hill with access to the water at the base of the property. Birds singing constantly which offset noise from nearby thoroughfare road (easy for me to block that out and focus on the birds, including call of the loon). Paddleboarded in the save and calm Scotch cove in front of the property and around Hume point that has the most beautiful property and house to gaze at. Also, at end of the cove is Grave's Island, provincial park, which I walked around one day and it provided lovely, shaded trails with so many different species of trees and gorgeous water views. Flora and Art were friendly and welcoming and the 2 bedroom suite had everything one could hope for ... lovely linens and towels, a well equipped kitchen, a nice bathroom with lots of hooks and even a tray for across the bathtub if you wanted a soak, a read, glass of wine. I loved the little nest of a daybed in the corner of the living room area and spent quite a bit of time reading there. My 24 year old son loved it too when he arrived for two nights with me. The private deck with views of the cove was the best in the morning while drinking the first coffee of the day. Obviously, I would highly recommend this place. One thing to be aware of is that you can hear people from above when they are talking and moving around but when it's just Art and Flora at home, it's pretty quiet.

A perfect oasis

We cannot give enough praise to this place and our hosts, Arthur and Flora. We were greeted by Art and Flora who immediately came out to help us park our trailer. Then we walked into our place and oh my goodness it was perfect. It’s spacious, clean, nicely decorated and they have not forgotten one thing. The view is spectacular, it was close to everything and it was simply wonderful . To cap it off, Art and Flora are the consummate hosts. We felt so comfortable and so welcome. We did not want to leave. Thank you for an outstanding holiday.

This is a gorgeous, peaceful property with stunning views over the water. We spent a very comfortable 3 nights here. The hosts in the upper floor were welcoming and very helpful, but leave you to enjoy the property in private. Beautifully furnished and appointed inside and out, we wished we could have srayed longer. Perfect to explore the area, with some nice restaurants and little shops nearby in Chester. Highly recommend.

My family of 2 adults and 3 kids had the pleasure of staying in The Lower Deck Studio on our recent Maritime road trip. The studio was almost brand new, everything was exceptionally clean, and the location was great with a postcard like view of Scotch Cove. Art and Flora went above and beyond, providing a welcome bowl of fruit and an assortment of teas, coffees and sugars, and they were very responsive to our questions. My kids thoroughly enjoyed paddle boarding and fishing off their dock. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we hope to be back again one day!
