  • Our 1,500 sq. foot, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, pet friendly, cabin is situated on an acre overlooking a stocked trout pond and is located 2 miles from Purgatory and 23 miles (less then 30 minutes) to downtown Durango. This residence offers a complete interior and exterior remodel with modern appointments that compliment the rustic mountain feel of the home.

    This property offers a truly Colorado mountain cabin experience along with a stocked pond for fishing right out the back door (no license needed) and a hot tub overlooking the pond with great views of the Hermosa Cliffs and a deck with a gas BBQ grill. There are two exceptional recreational lakes nearby, Electra and Havilland, and the area is replete with hiking trails and recreational diversity including snowshoeing and cross country skiing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, mountain biking and many many other recreational pursuits. Let this wonderful property with its best-in-class location be your home base for adventure, or your tranquil and quiet respite in the midst of the stunning beauty of the San Juan National Forest.

    This home is pet friendly! We allow a maximum of 2 dogs max and the pet fee is $40/day (for a max $250 per stay).

    Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.

Beautiful cabin and great location!

We loved our stay! The cabin is located nearby to Purgatory Ski Resort, Silverton, and Durango, and we enjoyed all 3 places on our trip. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and our dogs were happy to be with us. The host company emailed/texted us a couple of times during the trip asking for us to reach out if there were any issues.

Perfect cozy cabin in a magical place

This cozy cabin was perfect for my husband, myself, and our 4 daughters. The location was exactly what we needed to fit our trip needs. The hot tub was much needed after snow days on the mountain. We left a sled behind because it got lost in so much snow. It was just magical.

Excellent Cabin near Purgatory Ski Resort

The cabin was located 1 mile away from the purgatory ski resort. Accessibility was excellent. The cabin was clean with the amenities needed for a weeks stay. Main bedroom is a full size bed, pretty tight for 2 people to sleep comfortably. The 4 beds in the upstairs loft are twin size. If your traveling with adults or teenagers, the bed are small. The sofa pull-out bed is in need of a new mattress. The jacuzzi is wonderful. The views are incredible.

Can’t beat the location!

This little house was a perfect place for our family of 2 high school girls and my husband and I. This is the closest we have stayed to Purg and it was perfect! The best thing was the hot tub on the back patio. We used it every night even on the snowstorm and now we will have a hard time renting without one;-) We had an issue with the internet not working but management responded quickly and since it didn’t get fixed until the end of our stay they gave us a 10% refund which was appreciated! FYI…cell service is horrible up there so internet is definitely needed.

3 day drive from Jersey

Great place, good location between Durango and Silverton. Anyone with a teenage daughter knows they are hard to please but she had a fantastic week at this property. Did not catch and fish in the pond and don’t think it was stocked. Only thing I didn’t try was explosives ( ha ha). But the trails around the property was fun. If you take the train to Silverton do the bus on the way home if you have kids- hint hint. Overall ( and this is what the kids say) was worth the 3 day drive to and 3 days back. Thx

The perfect little getaway!

Absolutely loved this property! My husband, one year old, and I spent Thanksgiving here and had a relaxing, wonderful time. The place was clean, checking in was easy, and they had plenty of bedding/toiletries/kitchen tools/etc. for us to use. The jacuzzi worked great!

Great getaway from city life

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my family's first ever cabin-in-the-woods type of experience. It was absolutely refreshing and relaxing to be surrounded by beautiful trees, hear the wind blowing through them, and birds chirping. There are so many hiking areas nearby this location. After a couple, we were able to lounge out in the private hot tub. Even if the main road is along the other side of the pond, there's not a lot of cars that pass through this area. So it wasn't distracting at all. This is not a deal breaker but would have been nice to have an ironing board (there was an iron) and the ceiling fan in the bedroom downstairs could be cleaned. And one of the hot tub cover arms is broken. Other than that, loved the space. Great separation of kids area from main bedroom. All the utensils you need. Will come back for sure!

The cabin has a great spa for post boarding relaxation. Love the couch and lazy boys! Much needed after snowboarding everyday. Feels very private and kitchen is solid. I forgot my swim trunks in the dryer and host mailed them back no problem to my home. Great job by the team!

Close and Perfect

This place was amazing! The house and property were fantastic and fit all four of us very well. There is a snowplow the services the area and this house is first up. It’s only 5ish minutes from Purgatory which really sealed the deal on everything. The hot tub was perfect our back and there’s even a little fireplace type of thing in the living area (electric but puts out goons heat and has logs/flames). Thanks for a great place to stay!!

Just what we needed!

Very cool property! Its served our purposes well. There are some opportunities though.... Highway noise is a bit much to truly relax as the pictures might suggest. And the pond...well....I don't think there are any fish in it. We used the gas grill twice and then it ran out of propane. There was no backup tank and when I called for assistance (Andy)....I got none. The unfortunate thing is that we had planned a big grill out on the wonderful deck and couldn't. The master bedroom faucet leaked and three of the cabinets in the kitchen had knobs that kept falling off. Finally, there are mice however we kind of expected it as we are surrounded by wildlife.

Great vacation home

We really enjoyed our stay here. House was cozy and had nice quality towels. During heat of summer, the upstairs loft got pretty hot with no AC. Additionally the house is very close to the highway so there is some road noise. Overall I very much recommend and enjoyed this cabin, you just need to be aware of the minor issues above.
