"Our room was a little tired although clean. I think the accommodation could do with a bit of an upgrade. We did have dinner in the bar restaurant which is very nice."

"Great town to base yourself we stayed there for 8 years so we know this . The guest house is beautiful back from the road so very peaceful. The hosts are so lovely and welcoming. The room we had was a small double and it was immaculate,clean and had everything you need . Breakfast was excellent and there was plenty to eat . You won’t be disappointed "

"The outside of the hotel was nice but the inside was dirty. The staff was not friendly at check in. The bed was super uncomfortable and the pillows were hard as a rock. The breakfast area was unclean and the food was just okay. When we were at breakfast the maid had opened our room and did not close our door! "Had a very comfortable stay at Smiddy Haugh. Very clean and comfortable room with nice toiletries in bathroom. Owners were very welcoming and made us aware of all relevant information, I.e. heating, dining, check out, car parking. We had a delicious breakfast and would certainly recommend and visit again."

The hallways could use a fresh coat of paint, but every was very nicely decorated and high quality. We’ve been in Scotland two weeks and this was one of our favorite places we stayed at.
