"Exceptional service from all staff and just an all-around beautiful property with thoughtful special touches like water and chocolates offered in the evening. We have been staying at the sister property for over a decade and decided to try Hotel Maria this year instead. What an exceptional experience and that comes at no surprise. "It was a great stay. It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and will certainly not be our last now with such a great experience we had at the House of 1833. Evan was an exceptional host/chef. He gave us a tour of the home and the history. The breakfast in the morning was incredible from the homemade apple cranberry muffin to the Greek Italian Mac & Cheese Spinach Souffle. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet, yet close to town place to stay. "

"This was such a great find. The rooms are immaculate. They’re not fancy by any means, but you can tell they take pride in cleanliness and presentation. The front desk staff were great, and they had a nice continental breakfast. I really liked the fact that we could park at the beach and have our own private section of the beach as well by staying there. I didn’t get to use the pool, but it had a nice area and upper deck to go with it. Would absolutely recommend!"

"The room was clean and comfortable- if you take a close look you can tell it’s an older building that has been updated by all the old lumps and dents in the walls they painted over lol. Otherwise it looks very nice and is clean which is the most important. Plenty of outlets in the room and a full length mirror! The two women at the desk when I checked in were very pleasant and informative however at check out the gentlemen at the counter was sassy and seemed to not want to be bothered. I...

"The price for the 2 bedroom suite was great, and the rooms were sizeable. Kids enjoyed the pool and the amenities. Continental breakfast was great. "

"Being right on the beach was a total plus, and also having a pool made it a great property. The bathroom was updated, but it would have been great if it had a larger vanity area for the placing of cosmetics etc… The room itself could use some updating, but overall it was comfortable! "

"Great stay, great staff, Kareem and Alexandria were awesome. Pool was great, breakfast was good, I must say the coffee was the star of the show. Very pet friendly no issues whatsoever. Definitely will stay here again."

"Lovely staff! I went for a bday celebration and was pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade on my room. During the booking all my concerns were addressed and Josh was excellent at calming any fears of booking issues and made me extra excited about traveling to the Hotel. Great location to enjoy Foxwoods Casinos , Mohegan Sun, and even the Great Wolf Lodge. Fun fun fun!!"
