The Lookout - Cottage

Luxury modern home with incredible ocean views. Just under 1,000 sq. ft. on 2 acres of land, The Lookout has been meticulously designed with a chef`s kitchen, gas fireplace, heated bathroom floor, SmartTV, Wifi and some of the best views on the South Shore.



The Lookout is ideal for a family, couple`s getaway, girls weekend and anyone wanting to explore the natural beauty of Nova Scotia. We also welcome pets!



Cozy, warm, bright and clean open concept living. Enjoy your morning coffee overlooking the ocean or sleep-late and take-in the view from your bed in the principal suite!



Meticulously planned to maximize the views and the natural beauty of the nearby forest. No detail has been overlooked with Quartz counters, heated bathroom floors, gas fireplace and luxury touches throughout.



Guests are encouraged to use self check-in with all the details provided 24 hours prior to their stay.



The Lookout is located on the world-famous Lighthouse Route! Crescent Beach and Risser`s Provincial Park are just a five minute drive away where you can swim, kitesurf or spend the day by the water.



Foodies love both the nearby Ploughman`s Lunch and the LaHave Bakery where you can get incredible baked goods (go early!). Beachside Pizza is also nearby for a quick bite!



The historic LaHave Ferry departs every 30 minutes and is now FREE and the quickest way to Lunenburg (15 minutes). Continue on the Lighthouse Route to Mahone Bay for more shopping and sightseeing.



The large town of Bridgewater is 20 minutes away and has everything you need including shopping, groceries, movie theatre and more.

This was the perfect house for me, my husband and our two dogs. Such a beautiful location, and perfectly appointed house with everything we needed. The front porch was a dream overlooking the water. The hosts made everything so easy. We would come back over and over again.

Lovely home

The home was perfect for us. Sadly couldn’t walk anywhere as it was located just off the highway and too narrow to safely walk on the side of it. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great winter getaway

Very well-equipped and cozy spot to spend a few rainy days in December. We were able to do lots of cooking and read by the fire.The separate bedrooms and baths allowed for sleeping in which was niceWill definitely go back when weather improves.

Pleasant, relaxing stay in a beautiful house

While planning our trip, we narrowed our choice to two locations in the area both listed “with an ocean view”. We chose The Lookout Cottage because the house was so lovely and it indeed is. However, it is a bay view which is nice, it is just we expected an ocean view as listed in the “Private, ocean view home” There is a sliver of an ocean view but obscured by another house. In all of the photos online, a neighboring house is not shown. Although a lot or so away, the backside including trash cans, of the neighboring house is the view from the master bedroom sliding glass doors. Havening said that, the overall view from the kitchen and living area is scenic. The view away from the water onto a field is also nice since the deer like to graze there. It’s just our home overlooks a river and we paid a bit more than usual to have what we thought would be special--an ocean view. It is definitely a five-star property, all you needed was on-site and our hosts communicative.

Lookout - for the sunsets (and the deer)

The house was immaculate, comfortable and welcoming. We had excellent beds and appreciated the high end appliances. There was even an array of basic provisions - an unexpected bonus! Above all we loved the views. Sunset from the lookout is sublime.

Wonderful Hideaway with Ocean View

Perfect place to have a breakfast looking at the ocean and a BBQ for dinner. Good location for daily trips with some gorgeous beaches in the area. Proximity to Ospreys Nest restaurant very convenient.

Scenic and Serene

The Overlook was the perfect spot to explore and enjoy the beauty of the southern shore and lighthouse trail. The house itself was incredibly comfortable and well appointed, with a beautiful view of the shore. Our host was welcoming and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Amazing!

The Lookout is an amazing place! Modern, clean, dog friendly and great communication. Everything you need down to dog dishes with a dog mat! Very welcoming atmosphere, We were greeted by 5 deer and once again at the end of our stay. The Lahave bakery and Osprey’s Nest restaurant are a must. Jill does an amazing job….many thanks!

Our stay at the Lookout in Dublin Shore was great! The accommodations were beautiful and the owners have thought of everything including scotch tape and scissors! Watching the deer roam through the yard at sunrise was lovely! would stay again only longer next time!

Perfect for family of 4

We had a wonderful time staying at The Lookout! Jill was very communicative and made sure that we were all set with our (very) late arrival. She even looked to see when we were arriving and made suggestions about where to get groceries on our way to the property. The property was very clean and has everything you need for a good visit. There are really great activities nearby and Jill provides suggestions for those as well. Excellent visit!
