"The initial "Wow" factor of the fantastic living space was spoiled by the kitchen and bathroom.The lights in the cooker hood were not working and I got greasy fingers trying to work that switch, a good clean would be in order.The towels were a bit dated and small, and a previous tenant's towel was still hanging up in the bathroom.The freezer was not working either.I noted that the cleaner had replied to some negative comments in the guestbook and felt that inappropriate.It should be mentioned in...

"Really loved out stay at Little Mell Fell. Great instructions to find it. Set up really well for either a couple or a family of 4. Love that it's pet friendly. Was really clean and felt relatively recently done. The location was great to get around Ullswater and out to the surrounding lakes. "

"We had a lovely stay in this house.
I'd read reviews that criticised the cleanliness of it, and I wonder why some people like to moan. (To get good cleaners in the Lake District is not the easiest thing.)
We liked the house and garden. It was good that the owner had left everything we might need, washing up liquid, paper towels, numerous toilet rolls (of good quality), as well as cooking equipment etc.
My son and I had fun lighting the log burner stove with the wood provided.

"The Duke of Portland’s loss was our gain! Perfect location, perfect views, in fact, perfect in every way - from the roll top bath with the stunning views to the well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge with log burner and lulled to sleep by the gentle waves. A short walk to catch the Ullswater steamer and then into Pooley bridge for great restaurant choices.
We’ll be back!"

"The room was fantastic! Very comfortable, spacious and surrounded by greenery. They don’t have onsite front desk, so it can make late requests a little challenging. Give time for their WhatsApp communication, it’s not very expedient. They are very accommodating, however, and overall we had a great experience. I would definitely recommend."

"Grasmere is great place to book stay. Oakbank property was great and we had everything we needed to stay with comfort. The parking space is tight if you have bigger vehicle pr sedan car."
