  • Squirrel away with your family and friends at The Canopy! Minutes from Highlands NC, Sky Valley Resort, and area adventures (ziplining, hiking, snowtubing, golf, food/wine tourism). Our home features spacious open-plan living to enjoy time together or find a quiet nook for yourself. Sorry, no pets due to family being highly allergic. Relax on the 3 porches or take a walk to the gazebo (w/firepit), and watch out for cheeky deer wandering through! Enjoy canopy views with a book in hand or wind down in our private sauna and wellness room after exploring the mountains....

The Highlands and its surrounding mountain range will provide most visitors with a sense of adventure in almost every direction you take. That also sums up the experience at The Canopy. Beautifully designed older home that is tucked away in the deep woods so common to this region.

The Canopy was the perfect fit for our multi-generational Spring Break. The home was immaculate and cozy. The host thought of needs we didn't know we would have.The location was convenient for day trips and outings. The best part was we could have stayed at The Canopy the whole time and enjoyed our stay just the same!

Marilyn was a fantastic host. My wife and I had a great time celebrating our anniversary here, complete with a snow storm. This was a great place to get snowed in. Very comfortable and clean. We would love to stay here again with our family next time.

We have stayed in many vrbos over the years and this one is by far the most well stocked of all. Everything about the entire process was easy and stress free. This is just what we needed. We will definitely be back!

The place was absolutely beautiful and had everything we could have ever needed or wanted - especially the kitchen! It was relaxing and comfortable and had a lot of information about local attractions. The host was very responsive and the check out procedures were so minimal they gave us extra time with our family before we left.We would definitely go back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mountain retreat. Just a note, it is located in a neighborhood and sometimes we heard children playing, but it was sweet to actually hear kids playing outside and it still felt very secluded and private.

The canopy offered everything you could imagine. It was the perfect place for a long weekend away. The hosts were communicative and alleviated any stresses by being so accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Such a cozy home. We felt right at home. The owner was so nice and accommodating. We had everything we needed. I loved all the pamphlets and books with ideas for hikes, restaurants,waterfalls etc…We would go back!

Secluded setting

This property gives you a lot of privacy. Lovely home and very clean with most everything you could wish for. Highlands, NC is an easy drive away and would highly recommend the Dillard House Restuarant if staying there.

Amazing getaway in Sky Valley!

We had a wonderful stay at the canopy! Everything was nice and clean, the hosts were very accommodating, and the home offered plenty to do for a family of 6. Not to mention, it’s a short and scenic drive to places like the Highlands and other local attractions. I’ll definitely look this place up if we’re ever back in the area!
