There’s no shortage of ways to unwind at SunDestin Beach Resort, located right in the heart of Destin, FL. Just steps from the sugar, white sands and emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the resort boasts an array of amenities to ensure your trip is a memorable one. Grab cool drinks and snacks in the lobby gift shop and head out to the newly-renovated outdoor pool. Enjoy seasonal amenities, including a beach chair/umbrella rentals (additional fee), and an outdoor tiki bar. Peruse from the complimentary DVD rental selection. Head over to the fitness facility for a workout and get in some laps in the indoor pool (heated seasonally). Unwind from daily activities in the outdoor hot tub, sauna, or steam room. Should you need it, SunDestin Beach Resort has loads of meeting space for your personal or professional functions. Should any questions arise during your stay, our cordial and knowledgeable Scenic Stays team will be available via our 24-hour on-site front desk.



Talk about bright and cheerful! SunDestin Unit 0311 is a delightful one bedroom, one and one half bathroom condo accommodating up to six. Cozy up in this colorful beachfront retreat bathed in the colors of the sea. The fully-appointed kitchen is the perfect spot for preparing evening meals or poolside snacks. Lounge in the living room and catch a game or movie on the large flat-screen TV. When it’s time to get some shuteye, choose from twin bunks nestled in the hall, the sleeper sofa in the living room, or the master suite with king-sized bed, flat screen TV, and en suite bathroom. Enjoy morning coffee on your private balcony overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.



Outdoor activities are abundant in Destin, FL, including paddle boarding, snorkeling, and kayaking. Head over to the Destin harbor, rent a pontoon for the day, and soak up the Florida sunshine with locals and visitors alike!



Guests under 22 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone throughout their  stay. Pets are unfortunately not welcome and are subject to immediate departure if found to be inhabiting a property. Smoking is strictly forbidden.

We had a great stay. The splash pad was closed, no big deal. The construction wasn't noisey or bothersome. I got multiple messages from the property management reminding you can not bring your own umbrellas to the beach and you needed to rent from their group. This is not 100% true. You can use your own umbrellas they just cant be the 1st 3 or 4 rows of chairs. The waterfront chairs were nice, but they came w a price.

Review

We were on vacation from 5/26/25- 5/30/25. We reserved a certain room on VRBO but were given a different room that looked completely different and had different beds. The room we were put in seemed outdated and the shower/ bathroom seemed old and had very little space. Also we were looking forward to playing shuffle board but that isn’t there anymore (the pictures need to be updated). SunDestin also doesn’t allow personal umbrellas on the beach (we had our own and was told to take it down, so we got very sunburnt). The kids splash pad was also not working and there are no umbrellas at the pool. We did have trouble checking in, we arrived 30 mins before check in time and didn’t get to our room until 20 mins after check in time. The place was in a good location but wouldn’t recommend to anyone or stay there again, the pictures seemed a lot nicer than what it actually is.

Great location

The location of this property was perfect. It was in the middle of all of the attractions we wanted to visit and it was right on the beach. I think it will be better once renovations are done. The lobby was nice, but when you walk off of the elevator on the third floor it seems like you went into a different, older building. The bedroom is in the front of the condo so you hear everyone in the hallway. There were rowdy people that hung out in the hallway around midnight one night that woke us all up. We could also hear the cleaning staff first thing in the morning. They weren’t necessarily loud, but that wall must be thin because it sounded like they were in the same room. There are coin laundry machines across the hall from the unit so make sure to bring quarters if you want to wash anything, including towels ($2.50 each for washer and dryer). I received a text from the front desk one day asking if we needed anything, but when I text back I did not receive a response. I’m not sure if the splash pad is getting a makeover or if it just doesn’t work well, but it randomly worked and could use a power wash. The WiFi did not work well either.

High rise in Destin

Typical high rise in Destin. Location is good, beach is beautiful. Our unit was fair - somewhat dated (hello dusty peppers in oil kitchen decor) but fine for our needs. Especially because the elevators were always super busy/slow - at least we could walk up the stairs. Outdoor pool was closed - bummer! Indoor pool and hot tub were fairly icky/always packed. The beach chair rental situation was ridiculous - the contracted chair company had their rentals all the way to the water and would not let you set up in front of that. Again the unit was fine for our needs as (we traveled to different beaches in the area), but I would not stay here again.

Quick getaway

The condo unit was as advertised and it was clean. The complex is a little older but is clean and the staff is friendly. The Pelicans Roost had great drinks and food. The pancakes were huge. It was close to other restaurants and right on the beach. The view was amazing!!

Cute little place

It was a great location and staff were super friendly. We enjoyed our quick trip! The only thing that I found unpleasing about the place we booked, was the bunk bed walls were not cleaned very properly. The walls had, what it looked like to us, boogers.

Unwanted suprises

Moldy smell on low floor. Kids splash pad not open. A lot of traffic due to being next to elevator. Cannot use your own umbrellas forcing you to rent theirs. Community washer smoked bad. Would not rent again.

Perfection!

Everything was wonderful from the beginning to the end of our stay. From cleanliness to comfort and not to mention the breathtaking views! The care package waiting for us from our host so so sweet!! The friendliness of the staff was on point even though we came to Destin at one of the busiest times of the season! Thanks Kyle at the front desk. I was waiting for a luggage rack and he walked up to our room and carried all my belongings so I wouldn’t have to wait! Very friendly man! Sundestin is lucky to have him! We will definitely be back!

Great visit but a few shortfalls

We really enjoyed our stay. The room is just as advertised. The view is gorgeous, unfortunately we couldn't really see it. The chairs on the balcony are too short so adults only see the railing. I ended up putting three cushions on a chair to sort of get the view. Bar stools and a table would be a valuable upgrade. Also the wifi was horrible. The TV lagged and cell phones were spotty. I could book extra days and work from the room but the wifi ended that idea. Between those two things (and the lack of a couple non-stick pans) I'd have to pass on booking again. I paid a lot for a view I couldn't comfortably see and slow wifi? Can't do it again until changes are made. Otherwise, the room, amenities and staff are wonderful and helpful.

roomy sleep space

overall nice place. lots of good use of space. kitchen and dining area were pretty tight. very disappointed in the fact that personal umbrellas can not be used on the beach, but umbrellas can. Those are important factors that guest need to know before they get down there. Sure i could've searched it, but it would be helpful if it was in the description.
