The Property

Porch Light Retreat is located on our private property and offers a unique experience that combines the comforts of home with the charm of a small country homestead. While we do live on site, we respect our guests’ privacy and are available if needed while allowing you to enjoy your stay at your own pace.

One of the things that makes our property so special is the relaxed atmosphere and the animals that call it home. You’ll likely see our friendly dogs, cats, goats, and other farm animals throughout your stay. They have become guest favorites over the years and add a fun and memorable touch to the experience. Many guests enjoy feeding the goats, watching the animals roam, or simply relaxing while taking in the sights and sounds of country life.

The backyard is truly the heart of Porch Light Retreat.

Our beautiful saltwater pool serves as the centerpiece of the property and provides the perfect place to cool off during warm Texas afternoons. Whether you want to swim laps, float peacefully in the water, play games with the family, or simply lounge poolside with a cold drink, you’ll have plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself.

The attached spa offers the perfect way to end your day. Imagine soaking in warm bubbling water while watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink. At night, the stars come alive, creating a peaceful backdrop for conversations, laughter, or quiet moments of relaxation.

Comfortable seating areas throughout the backyard make it easy to gather with family and friends. You’ll find plenty of opportunities to relax, read a book, enjoy a meal outdoors, or simply take in the scenery. The property provides a wonderful mix of sunshine and shade, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors throughout the day.

Guests are welcome to use the charcoal and wood burning grill. Please note that guests will need to bring their own charcoal, wood, lighter fluid, and grilling supplies.

Good to Know

This is a rural property, which means you may encounter wildlife, insects, frogs, birds, deer, and other animals commonly found in the Texas countryside.

Cell service is generally very good with Verizon. A WiFi booster is available to help provide reliable internet access during your stay.

The pool temperature varies depending on weather and season. During summer months, the pool is typically maintained around 82 degrees. Additional pool heating may be available for an extra fee. The spa can be heated with advance notice.

Smoking is permitted outdoors only. Please dispose of cigarette butts properly.

No glass containers in the immediate pool or hot tub area.

No diving.

Children must be supervised around water and animals at all times.

Please place trash in designated bins.

Lost key fee: $50.
