"Elm tree cottage was the best stay I’ve had in Yorkshire , I visit often and by far the best place I’ve stayed the hosts were lovely and kind and was great to chat too! The location was perfect in a cute little village on a farm close to Thirsk and an easy drive to York. Providing the essentials for cooking and a cozy little cottage too! Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning in the future! "

"Ich kann mir keine bessere Unterkunft für einen Städtetrip in York vorstellen!!! Das Hotel hat erst im Juni 2026 eröffnet. Alles war sehr sauber und die Zimmer mit Bad und Küche (sogar inkl. Ofen, Geschirrspüler, Waschmaschine) sind perfekt ausgestattet. Die Betten sind sehr bequem und die Zimmer nach hinten raus zudem auch sehr ruhig, trotz der zentralen Lage. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage (damit wird auf der Hotel Website auch nicht geworben), dennoch war mein Zimmer zum Innenhof angenehm kühl....

"We had a really lovely stay. The apartment is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance of both York city centre and the train station. Despite being so close to the station, it was surprisingly quiet and we couldn't hear the trains at all. The apartment is in a modern, well-maintained building and was beautifully decorated throughout. There were four of us staying, and it felt spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. Our only suggestion would be to...

"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."
