There are a few things that went awry during our stay. My first impression was at the front desk. The district manager, as she identified herself, upon check-in, treated me differently than the woman just in front of me. She did not ask to see the name on her debit/credit card, but in turn, asked for mine. I am black and the woman in front of me was caucasian. At checkout, I asked for the two different rooms to be put on 2 different cards & the clerk put them on 1.
Upon arrival to our room, there was a puddle of water on the floor in the restroom where the maid service had just completed the make-ready. They wiped it up, but could not explain where it came from.
During the night, the phone in my room rang several times. At first, I thought it was a member of my family calling from another room. However, it continued & I eventually had to unplug the phone.
Another incident-we had a very large party. Instead of offering us a hospitality room, they rudely asked us to leave the lobby at a certain time. The young lady made ushering motions as if we were children she was sending to their room.
I was in awe of this as one of the staff had her very young children there and what I believe was her spouse, while she was working. The staff also left the front desk unattended while they were outside watching the fireworks. There were items in the "store" being stocked that were left unattended while they did this as well. I found this shocking.
