A charming stay in the middle of a lively and authentic corfiot village
We booked in the last minute this charming apartment situated on the second floor of a charming and authentic corfiot house which is in the middle of a small but lively village in the middle of the southern part of the island. The communication with Stellina went very smoothly and it was very easy to find the house event in midnight as it is situated in the very center of the village Stroggily, on the main street, just next to the local taverna and opposite the local cafe (pub). The place attracted us as it offers 3 separate charming bedrooms and all the necessary facilities for a modern house-keeping, which are necessary for a family with 3 kids. We spent there 10 days and every day we could go to a different beach on the east or on the west coast of the island each one to be reached within 15 min by car. A cleaning lady came to change the bed-sheets and towels and to clean the apartment once at the end of the first week of our stay which was highly appreciated! The first couple of days we were kind of disturbed by the noise of the passionate disputes of the locals sitting in the pub till after midnight as all the bedrooms are overlooking directly the scene of events. Afterwards, however, we got used to it as it is a part of the village and the natural way of life of the people there. The Spyros taverna just on the right hand side of the house offers warm welcome and good music on Friday nights which we enjoyed from the large and gorgeous veranda of the apartment with a magnificent view to the surrounding hills. All the apartment is bathed in the aromas of the large jasmine bush which covers the front yard and leaves unforgettable odoric memories. The heart and the real gem of the house however are Stellina's grand parents who live on the ground floor. We will long remember their warm attitude and big-heartedness. A big thank you!
