QUIET FAMILY HOUSE NOT SUITABLE FOR GROUPS OF YOUNG PEOPLE

After six years at Baluchon Portais (Gîte in Port-en-Bessin), we are delighted to welcome you to a new gîte, La villa des Cotis, in Normandy, in the heart of the landing beaches and its magnificent landscapes, for a stay relaxation and culture.
Ideally located, thirty minutes from Caen and ten minutes from Bayeux, you will be charmed by our beautiful Bessin region.

The fishing port of Port-En-Bessin, located just two kilometers from the villa, is lively all year round. You will be able to find all the amenities necessary for a pleasant stay (Shops – Restaurants – Delicatessen stores – Souvenirs, etc.). Walks on the cliffs, on the quay and on the sand at low tide will allow you to take a deep breath of sea air. You will also be won over by the cultural and sporting activities offered by this small fishing village; Visit to the fish auction (fish sale) and shipyards, fishing at sea or on foot, hiking trails, golf, paragliding and much more...

To relax, you will stay in a quiet, comfortable family villa with a garden with private heated swimming pool (April 8, 2023 / October 15) The villa has a garage and a living area consisting of a ground floor. ground and one floor.
On the ground floor you will find:
--A fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, dishwasher, oven, induction hob with built-in hood, wine cellar, microwave and all small SMEG appliances for a pleasant stay). To facilitate your cooking sessions, a house stock will be at your disposal (Oil, vinegar, pepper, salt, etc.).
--A dining room,
--A living room equipped with armchairs, a spacious sofa, a flat screen TV (TNT and Netflix) and a desk with computer (IMac),
--A master bedroom including a dressing room and a bathroom,
--A lavatory,
Upstairs :
--Two bedrooms and a bathroom equipped with a shower and a bathtub.
For more comfort you will benefit from a wifi connection and home automation allowing you to control some of the Villa's equipment.

UIET FAMILY HOUSE NOT SUITABLE FOR GROUPS OF YOUNG PEOPLE

Household linen options (beds made on your arrival - towels and pool linen) €15 Per person, not included in the stay price. To be paid on arrival.

We also provide some consumables (toilet paper,
Coffee, tea, soap, paper towel, sugar, pepper, salt, oil, vinegar...) to help you out on your arrival.
It is then up to you to complete it according to your needs during the stay. You have a grocer and a mini market a few meters from the villa.

We will be at your disposal throughout your stay to provide you with all the right addresses.

Perfect Normandy Base

Property is very spacious, clean, and well equipped. Host was very kind and responsive. This was the perfect place for the family to relax after a very busy week in London and Paris. The location is perfect for exploring all the battle sites in Normandy and an easy day trip over to Mont Saint Michael. Grocery store is about a mile away, and I'm sure for those who travel more during the tourist season there are many restaurants to eat at. We traveled at the beginning of January, so not a lot open, but also no other tourists, so we pretty much had all the sites to ourselves. I felt very lucky to have found this home for our stay and would definitely recommend to others. Tip: The beds are firm, so if soft is your thing you might want to take a Motrin. The home provides a washing machine, but no dryer. Probably only an issue for us Americans, so plan accordingly for air drying. This property in located in the French counrtyside. Not really much you could walk to, but navigating with car was easy.

très belle villa, décoré avec gout et soin. La grande baie vitré fait qu'a cette période le pull est apprécié.Petit bémol sur la sdb du haut le radiateur ne fonctionnait pas et les serviettes ne séchaient pas.Des grands plats, poêles ainsi que des saladiers en plus sont les bien venu.La villa est tellement sympa qu'on oublis vite le reste.Merci à vous

Well placed for exploring Normandy

The property was bigger than anticipated with plenty of room for all of us. The pool was a huge bonus if a little cold on cloudy days. There was everything we needed in the villa including a push bike! The villa is well placed in the centre of the DD day beaches and memorials which were very moving to visit. Port en Bissen is delightful with a market every Sunday. The only negative was the dusty surfaces. Maybe it had been a while since anyone stayed. plus the pillows, maybe 2 per person as they were flat and uncomfortable. We really loved this villa and would love to stay again in the future.

Great Location

The home is lovely and as described online. Also the location is great for touring Bayeux and the Normandy D-Day beaches. The check in was easy but super brief which is fine until there was an issue. We never could figure out the AC and the upstairs bedrooms were roasting hot all night. The pool cover had a retraction issue and we contacted the owner immediately; she was responsive but it felt was placing blame on us however we did what we were told with our brief explanation at check in. Also she charges for linens, which are not high quality, very rough towels and no top sheets or pillows other than throw pillows on the bed. After we left she asked if we took one of the towels in our packing… ugh! There were no written instructions in the home.

Magnificent Home and Perfect Location

Best experience

We had a rough start to our trip. Arrived in Paris and missed our first train to Caen. This delayed our check in. The host was so fantastic and worked out an arrangement so we could check in later than expected. The location was fantastic. Right on the road you take to all of the D-Day sites. The house is in a small quite neighborhood. It is well equipped with all you need, very clean and modern. I am definitely thinking of coming back to this particular house in the near future to stay longer.

We en famille dans le Bessin

Nous avons passé 3 jours très agréables dans la maison de Laetitia. La maison est superbe et bien équipée. L'aménagement PMR nous a offert une option supplémentaire que nous avons beaucoup appréciée. La décoration est soignée et l'ensemble donne une sensation d'être à la maison. Des ballades sont possibles à pied même si l'accès aux axes principaux est simple. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour, l'ensemble des échanges avec nos hôtes et la flexibilité de ceux ci. Je recommande sans hésiter.

Maison moderne très agréable à vivre

Bonjour, Nous avons séjourné chez Laetitia durant les vacances de Noel. Nous avons découvert une maison joliment décorée pour Noel, très chaleureuse, très propre et très lumineuse avec ses grandes baies vitrées. La maison est située dans un petit lotissement, à 4 minutes en voiture du Port et d'un supermarché. Nous avons apprécié l'esprit cosy de la maison ainsi que ces belles pièces à vivre : grand salon avec une télé grand écran pour les soirées d'hiver, salle à manger, ainsi que la cuisine spacieuse. Nous recommandons vivement cette maison. Cécile

Superb house and excellent location

This is a super house in a lovely location. The owner was kind enough to let us charge our electric car in the garage. The house was beautiful cleaned, well furnished and equipped with a good pool area as well. A very minor hiccup at the start when the owner was going to charge 15€ for linen but once I indicated this should be included all was well. This was more than made up for by allowing us a late checkout as there were no other guests arriving the same day. Thank you very much and we will be back.

Et skønt ophold

Vi havde et virkelig dejligt ophold i dette smukke hus. Vi blev taget vel imod og alt fungerede som det skulle. Roligt område. At vejret så også var perfekt efter vores smag gjorde oplevelsen endnu bedre.

modern french villa

The villa was everything that we wanted in a home away from home: well stocked and is centrally located to restaurants, grocery shopping, bakeries, sites: Mont St. Michel (2 hours) Dday beaches,Port au Bessin (5 min) Bayeux (15 minutes). It was such a joy to come back from sightseeing and relax in a beautifully decorated comfortable home sipping on cidre from the host's grandfathers farm. Be sure to download WhatsApp and Wayz for easy navigation and communication. Wish we could have enjoyed the pool more as we did have good weather just not enough time. Highly recommend 12/10
