The recreation area is large enough to have Business group presentations day or overnight stays.
-High speed internet for your streaming pleasure and work
-3 bedrooms with ensuite full bathrooms on the upper floor and 2 bedrooms on the lower floor that share a full bathroom. NOTE; 5th bedroom is for 13 or more guests. Inquire with host

-Super Kitchen, large, modern and fully equipped
-Main Dining room table seats 8, plus adjacent bar seating for 3, Over flow in living room table for 4 adults, down stairs dining table for 6 and more seating in recreational room. -
-Deck seating with BBQ propane grill.
-Free large oversized parking on property for vehicles, ATV. Also good street parking. NO recreational vehicles allowed.
- Owner has a stored RV on lower driveway.
-Recreation room with a pool table, foosball table, game tables, a large screen TV with surround sound
-Six recliners around the large screen TV - 4 of the recliners are electrically operated
-Views of Sierra Blanca Mountain and the Lincoln National Forest out of our backyard
-Deer, elk and a variety of wildlife come to the rear of the Woodlands Chalet
-Spacious, comfortable living room with a fireplace, purchase firewood locally by guests or special order with the host.
-Master bath has a jetted tub, walk in shower, toilet room and walk-in closet.
-The backyard shares a border with the Lincoln National Forest.
-The Woodlands Chalet is physically within the boundary of the Village of Cloudcroft yet it is secluded at 9000 feet elevation on a cul-de-sack road.
-Temperatures are cool year around, no air conditioning is required nor available
-2 step entry onto a deck, then 1 more step into the residence. Location at the upper driveway main entrance. Interior door ways are wide for wheel chairs.
-Easy access for seniors and those with walkers.
-1 step entry at the lower driveway entrance.

Hiking and motorized trails abound throughout the Sacramento Mountains and the Lincoln National Forest. The early railroad history is evident in Cloudcroft. We highly recommend the Village Museum and the Trestle (a replica of one of the many wooden structures erected so the train could navigate the numerous canyons along the route).

Many restaurants offer great eating opportunities, or you can stay in and enjoy the use of our Super Kitchen. We have a local brewery in the Village.
Snow removal is provided by the Village, unto the the driveway. 2 Snow shovels are provided. Normally, we have 3-5 inches of snow at any given time, then it melts. Please note 4 wheel drive vehicle could be needed during the winter months. Drive prepared please.

It was a perfect space for 14 of us! Plenty of beds for everyone. Spacious living and dining seating for us to spread out or be all together at once. Large and nicely equipped kitchen for all the chefs to keep our stomachs as full. Wonderful & kind host!

Our family stay at the chalet was exceptional. With fourteen adults and three babies under the age of two, we all had plenty of room to relax and enjoy spending time together! We loved the large kitchen for preparing meals and dining area, with plenty of seats for all. Our whole family loved walking out the back door and going on family hikes in the national forest, the deer and wild horses that came up every evening to the backyard were a special bonus. We all enjoyed gathering downstairs and playing games and watching movies. It was nice to find accommodations for our large group with comfortable beds and furniture. We also had plenty of parking, with eight vehicles, and the road to the cabin and parking area are not steep and easy to drive. The hosts were gracious enough to bake us a cake and take such good care of us, checking in periodically to make sure we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything. I would highly recommend the chalet for large groups.

Five siblings, four with spouses, celebrating our special needs sister’s birthday. Wonderful place, lots of room, comfortable beds, surrounded by the beautiful New Mexico mountain scenery and cool mountain air. Highly recommend this property. The owners were so friendly and accommodating.

Our family of 9 had a fantastic time in this cabin. It's high on the mountain, but easy to get to and close to town. It's stocked with everything you would need to spend lots of time at the cabin. We absolutely loved it!

This is our second time staying at this property and had another awesome experience. The house and location are both amazing. Darlene and Al are fantastic hosts and are very welcoming and accommodating to our group. We bring UTVs up from Texas and love the ease of access to the mountain trails from the house. After a day of riding the house has everything we need to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our stay at the Woodlands Chalet could not have been better!! It’s a beautiful property with very nice furnishings. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals, the rooms are large, the bathrooms spotless. Our family was there for 5 nights & loved every minute of our stay. The hosts, Darlene & Al, were so helpful & accommodating. Quick response to any questions & explained various features about the house. The setting is great. The back yard adjoins a national forest & we would see wild horses & deer regularly. I would highly recommend the Woodlands Chalet to anyone needing accommodations in or around Cloudcroft.

Our hosts we the best I’ve encountered so far as a veteran VRBO’er. The property was more than clean and as comfortable a place as we have stayed in so far. I highly recommend this property and want to thank Al and Darlene in making our stay a perfect one!

Everything was wonderful, there were a few things that we did not approve of: the fact that we had to remove the linens from beds on our departure, no disinfectant wipes to clean kitchen counters, not enough trash bags, the additional cost to check in earlier or to leave later. This should be already part of the included cost.

We didn’t actually stay at this property because they canceled on us. We decided on the spur of the moment to go to Cloudcroft for a couple of days. I hurriedly booked and forgot to put in amount of guest staying. Darlene quickly called me and asked me to remedy that which I did. She told me the price would increase which I was fine with. However, I didn’t realize that I would need to go back in and authorize the payment again since I had already done that. My husband had gout so I was busy doing the packing and driving so I didn’t see the emails. The day of check in, we went to Carlsbad Caverns so didn’t get the calls and emails because of no service. So on the day of check in while we were en route to property they canceled our stay. I understand their need to do this. However, I had Darlenes contact info so I contacted her and offered to PayPal her for that night and actually went ahead and rebooked it for the next two nights but she canceled that booking as well. She was very rude and not accommodating at all. She ignored my call and sent me a rude text message. She didn’t try to remedy things at all. At around 10. Pm and By Gods help I was able to contact another Home owner in Cloudcroft and was able to stay at a much better home for which I’m thankful! Not trying to hurt anyone, just telling it like it was. I did tell her that I would leave a review so that’s what I’m doing. Don’t pay attention to the star rating as I didn’t actually stay on the property, just had to leave a star.

We always enjoy traveling to Cloudcroft but needed a large spot for our extended family of 10 this summer! This house was definitely stunning upon walking in and the area is one of the nicest and best in Cloudcroft in my opinion. We spent tons of time on the front and back porches and there is a fenced area in the back which was nice for our young kids that we didn’t want wandering. Beautiful view of the forest and even White Sands and Sierra Blanca were visible during our stay. The house was incredibly spacious and set up great for a large family vacation- plenty of common area to hang out but lots of rooms and bathrooms for privacy. The only thing that could be better is if you could use the laundry without paying extra, but there is a fairly cheap laundromat in town just minutes away if needed as well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Albert and Darlene!

I highly recommend Darlene and Albert's place when you visit Cloudcroft. A large group of friends and I just went for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the Lincoln forest off road trails. We could not have felt any more welcome, Darlene and Albert gave us great tips and recommendations of where to head for the weekend. The chalet is great, perfect for a large group of friends or a family get together. We will definitely be back to their place!!

We stayed three nights during the Cloudcroft Ultramarathon in August 2021. The Chalet was the perfect place for the kids and adults to relax and have fun. Darlene made us feel welcome and comfortable from beginning to end. 5 stars all around! Highly recommend this place and will consider renting again in the future. Thank you!
