"Gull Cottage" - Lake Erie waterfront - Expansive Views, Historic Cottage Charm

Gull Cottage is a beautiful, historic lakefront home with huge picture windows overlooking a large back yard and lake Erie, with expansive views of the lake from almost every room. It has a deck with a grill, and a large back yard where you can enjoy a sunset over the lake. It has high speed internet, a smart TV, washer and dryer, and a garage, and more.

Small pets with prior approval - $100 per pet per stay - contact for details.

Sorry, NO EVENTS OR PARTIES.

Fireplace inoperative, and NO outside fires please.

Maximum 8 staying guests; visitors only with prior approval. There is a charge for non-approved guests.

Parking on site for up to 4 cars, public parking close by.

Sorry, turret and its spiral stairs are not useable.

Steps to the lake are part of the retaining wall and are large steps right into the lake. These can be icy in winter, so enter at your own risk.

Gull cottage is exactly as it appears. It’s well maintained and was perfect for our family weekend. Everyone asked if we could meet again here next summer because it had such a lovely interior and so many different places to hang out. And, we played a couple of competitive games of croquet in the back yard.

The Gull Cottage property is on a road of very beautiful and well kept year-round homes on the shore of Lake Erie. The home has a nautical theme with updated furnishings in an older home that has been beautifully maintained. It is easy to stay in and adapt to the amenities the home has to offer. The back yard offers stunning views on a shoreline that cuts from the northeast on the right to the south west on the left. The sunsets over the water are as beautiful as I have seen. I have many family and freinds in the area, who know others that have stayed here. Everyone really liked their time at Gull Cottage. (Btw we also saw two bald eagles patrolling the shore, four deer nibbling on the grass,and a nervous little ground hog looking for dinner while taking in the views from the family room at Gull Cottage!)

We really loved this house! Beautiful view of the lake, quiet neighborhood, good access to nearby shopping. The house is in great shape, extremely well maintained. If you like clean, this is for you! We don't rent often so this was a wonderful experience. The host was incredibly helpful and always available. Next time in Cleveland area, we will be sure to book this again!

I’m absolutely certain if you’re looking to stay in this area, Bill is your guy! This was the perfect place and one of the most beautiful properties I’ve ever seen. My family and friends couldn’t have had a better time here. It’s unlike anywhere else,way less to do before check out then anywhere we’ve ever been. So kind so considerate and I just honestly can’t say enough good things. THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE.

Can’t say enough good things about this house, the views, and the host family Bill and Ann Marie! The power went out because of storms in the area and Bill and Ann Marie had us up and running with a generator the same day! Anyone in the area looking for a getaway with a cool lake breeze should consider this place! Play on the lawn, grill on the deck, bathe in the lake!

Wonderful home right on the lake. The weather was perfect, so we were able to enjoy watching the sunset every night in the gazebo. Location was great and we were short driving distance away from different beaches. We were able to enjoy jet skiing, ziplines, minature golf, hiking, etc. A great vacation. The owners were very quick to respond to our questions.

This rental is spectacular. Views are amazing and the area is well kept. House had games, wifi and was very well kept. Highly recommended if in the area of Mentor on the Lake near Cleveland. Great stay.

Bill and Ann have a great rental right on the lake. The 1905 gull house has been fully updated and has a great kitchen as well as outdoor patio and gazebo with a walkway down to the lake. Beds are comfortable and offer room for large family gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped to serve meals for eight. The hosts are very responsive yet respectful of privacy. Take care to keep the neighbors happy.

We visited in April for the eclipse and were so fortunate to find this gem of a place. There are many inviting spots for friends and family to gather and relax, and the views from the living/dining/porch areas and the primary bedroom are incredible. The furnishings are comfortable and attractive. Photos can’t really capture how nice it is. The kitchen was thoughtfully renovated and has everything you might need to prepare meals. Steps to the second floor are quite steep but there is a handrail and treads to prevent slipping. It was nice that the house has one bedroom (and a powder room) on the first floor. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house. The driveway is shared with the house next door but that was not a problem at all.

This beautiful cottage was just what my family needed for a weekend getaway. The view of Lake Erie, the family of deer that showed up out of nowhere, and the setup of the house were more than we expected. My grandkids were so excited every day we were there. The games for the littles were a bonus. We will book this spot again as long as they live in OH. The host was super responsive and even let me know as soon as it was discovered the kid's toothbrushes were left. You will not be sorry to rent this little piece of heaven on your next visit to the area.

The pictures don't do this getaway justice. This is a beautiful place from the interior decor and the exterior unobstructed lake view. It was relaxing and inviting. My sisters and I, along with our mother, celebrated my birthday as well as needing a getaway as we mourned the year anniversary of our brother's death. It was just what we needed. Thank you Bill

The house is beautiful. Warm. Everything you need. Perfect setting. A real treat. We loved it. We had an appointment at the Cleveland clinic and it couldn’t have been a better spot to rest and sleep and get to the hospital. Thank you!!
