"The staff here could not have been any better! We took a train from Anchorage to Seward and arrived before our check-in time. The woman at the front desk work with the cleaning crew and we got in with very little wait time. The room was very clean. The cleaning crew did an amazing job. In the evening my daughter went to the front office fir some hot chocolate, but they were out. The front desk staff member said she'd run to the store, get some hot chocolate, knock on our door when she returned...

"This property is hard to review because they are undergoing a massive renovation. The hotel is charming in the history and antiques of it, the price certainly fit our budget, and the staff was as accommodating as could be. However, there were obvious areas for improvement. They recently put in a new water system and for some reason, the hot water did not reach out unit. With a few changes and tries, we still couldn't make it work. But they did allow us to use the shower in a smaller room...

They went out of their way to make the house cozy everynight with a fire and great ambiance, greeted us every morning during breakfast (which the 3 course breakfast was always different and incredible!) and communicated clearly which made check in a breeze. "Only 5 hours since checkin. So perhaps too early for a comprehensive review. But preliminarily the Bear Lake Lodge is excellent. Bre is a good host. "Nice quiet spot to spend the night. Rooms only have a bed and minium space. But, the main building has all the comforts of home. Refrigerator, restroons, fireplace, books, guitar piano. "We really enjoyed our stay at Windsong lodge. The cabin style room is very clean with a balcony. Great location to go to town city and exit glacier hike. Onsite restaurant with good food choices for our teenage son and young daughter. Would highly recommend this Lodge to anyone who wants to visit Seward!"
