"The casino was close by - came to Cherokee to see a concert and rates were comepetitive."

"The room was nice, and bigger than most. The rates were also good, and the front desk clerk that waited on me was well above average. After those things, I expected a decent breakfast, and was majorly disappointed. There were muffins, in 3 flavors, along with coffee and fruit juice. I aske the morning clerk if that was really all, and she looked embarrassed when saying that was it. As I told her, that was the most pathetic version I've seen."

"Proximity to the casino was a plus. Quaint, downtown Cherokee shops were fun to visit and puruse."

"Pretty nice. Too much walking to get to stuff. People bringing inoutised beverages and food unchecked let me know I don't need to spend as much money at the bars or for the food there next trip."

"Expedia let us make reservations several months ago for Super Bowl Weekend but did not coordinate with the owners of Newfound Lodge as the hotel was closed for the season. Expedia should not be making reservations for a hotel that is closed and also should let customers know that it wasn’t going to be open. I don’t blame Newfound Lodge but this needs to be fixed! "

"The check in process took forever. The lady at the front was friendly but new and had no idea what she was doing. While standing there and she was calling for help i watched german roaches climb on the desk through her folder holder. Once we got to our room it was ok. Cleanish...shower was gross. Ashtray out on back porch was full of used cigarettes and the seats were very worn in. Will not stay here again. "

"Close to restaurants and shopping. Great Smokey Mountain Railroad Train Depot about a 2 minute drive from their parking lot. The staff is AMAZING! They give you options for your breakfast and serve it exactly the way you want it. The homemade blueberry bread is delicious. You will get a tour of the grounds as soon as you arrive. The rooms are very clean. The whole place is very charming. I highly recommend. "

"Step back 105 years and sink yourself into a time of relaxation and small town charm. The Calhoun House has all the modern comforts but a real yester-year feel. Ed is a great historian and host and makes you feel at home, and we did.....stayed an extra unplanned night too!"

"We had a wonderful and relaxing time here. This b&b is tucked away from the hustle of town while still being conveniently located. The grounds are lovely to walk around, and we enjoyed seeing the various animals that live nearby. Toni is a wonderful host to the guests and really made all the difference in our stay. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. We never left hungry and you could really tell that everything was very fresh. Another visitor was vegan and was accommodated, which I felt...

"This motel is in a great location for walking around Bryson City. The staff that we interacted with were kind and helpful. Our room was good with enough space to move around and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was relatively updated but kind of small and I can't imagine a larger person being able to get into the shower. And there was no way to just have the light on without the noisy fan. All in all though it was a good affordable place to stay while we explored the area."
