This is a unique lodging directly on the Venetian Harbor in Chania. The size of our room (very large) and the floor to ceiling windows and view of the Harbor were outstanding, and more than justified the cost for seven nights. Our only caveat is in an historic old building with no elevator and no handrails going up to the upper floors. Having said that, our excellent hotel manager George did carry our luggage up and down stairs for us. Breakfast was prepared daily every morning and brought up to our room by the housekeeping staff, two lovely women that could not have been nicer. The only down side one should be aware of is that there is quite of bit of noise after midnight that comes into the room from those that go to the restaurants and bars in the Harbor that can go on until three o'clock in the morning. If you are one of those that go to bed by eleven each night and value a full night of quiet rest, you may want to reconsider and choose a lodging that is outside of the Venetian Harbor area.

This was one of the most charming, beautiful boutique hotels I have ever stayed in. Veronika went out of her way to help me get my suitcases up and down the steep stairs, gave me great local advice for food and adventure, and was super professional, polite, and friendly. The view from my room was exceptional. The only drawback was the noise level. I would stay there again. If you stay there, you must eat at Tamam - about a half block from Vranas!

The room was immaculate and very spacious. The experience was incredible; one of a kind hotel. The breakfast provided was lovely, with lots of flexibility, and the host was very helpful to provide guidance on the best restaurants in the area to eat at in the evenings. This hotel is in an absolutely stunning location, and the room we used included an indoor pool for relaxing out of the summer heat. The whole experience was amazing; 10/10, would happily stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Residenza Vranas! The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable — it felt more like a chic apartment than a hotel room. This hotel is one of a kind. It is possibly one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The room is huge and uniquely built, facing the harbor with direct view of the light house. The room was so big and comfortable, I can be just as happy staying in and gazing out to the water all day. The location is so convenient with charming alleyways at every which way. More importantly, there is no shortage of great restaurants and cafes. The staff are wonderful. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommend this hotel for it is not just a place to sleep and have showers, but truly an unforgettable experience.

Perfect Location with Incredibly Helpful Staff!

Could not say enough good things about this hotel! First, our flight was delayed out of the US which forced us to arrive a day later and into Heraklion instead. The staff were extremely helpful and responsive in adjusting our car rental reservation for this change. We also unfortunately received a traffic ticket on our way and again staff gave us easy and detailed instructions on where/how to pay this. Lastly, we left our Kindle behind and they mailed it to our next destination! Thank you Vranas for making a stressful travel situation much more relaxing! The hotel is perfectly located in the old town with a beautiful view overlooking the harbor. The room was clean, bed comfortable, and breakfast delicious. We would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again!

Really bad service

First off, I am not someone who generally does many reviews, but after the service we received from the owner/manager, I feel compelled to review to let other travelers know. When we checked in, there were many things broken. (The sink was loose, the shower was leaking and the shower head was broken off, the towel rack was broken, the reading lights were out, there were problems with the shower fixtures, etc. I sent a note to the manager and owner of the hotel expressing some frustration, since we paid a ton of money for this room. Had the owner / manager acknowledged my note, I'd probably give the a 3 star. But I sent him 4 separate notes, and also sent other employees (who were awesome, BYW) notes. I asked them to relay my message to the owner/manager, which they did. We checked out yesterday, and I still haven't heard a peep from the owner. Really disappointing that this is the way they prioritize their guests. Unacceptable.

We had a wonderful stay at Residenza Vranas in Chania. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The location is excellent for exploring the Old Town, with restaurants, shops, and the harbor all within walking distance. The only downside was the parking situation. Since the hotel is located in the historic area, parking isn’t convenient. We had to park several minutes away and walk about seven minutes with our luggage to reach the hotel, which was a bit challenging. It would have been helpful to have an easier drop-off option for suitcases. Other than that, everything was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Residenza Vranas to anyone visiting Chania.

Boutique hotel with excellent views of the harbor. Fantastic staff, who even accommodated an early breakfast for us so we wouldn't be late for our planned activities.

The room was very nicely decorated and the balcony view of the harbour was awesome. Our room was the one with the pool inside on the first floor. However, Inside the bathroom there was mold. The pool had no chlorine in it which i thought was disgusting. And finally, what bothered me the most and the things that will never allow me to even consider staying there again are the roaches. I must have seen around 10 of them throughout our room. I hope they fumigate....hotel has alot of potential. Staff was helpful as well.

Unvergesslich schöne Erfahrung - rundum zufrieden

Wir hatten eine super tolle Zeit und überlegen schon wann wir wiederkommen können. Die Suite ist super geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und der Ausblick auf den ganzen Hafen traumhaft. Wir saßen eine Woche lang jeden Morgen (beim leckeren Frühstück) und spät abends nur am offenen Fenster und haben die Atmosphäre genossen. Die Gastgeber sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unsere Angst es könnte wegen dem Treiben im Hafen Nachts laut werden hat sich zum Glück nicht bestätigt. Die Suite ist nach außen hin sehr gut isoliert.
