5 star rated!! With NEW A/C installed for each bedroom!!
Welcome to our traditional mid-19th Century former winemakers' village house that has been fully renovated, yet preserving all the beautiful historic features. You will have ample space to spread out and unwind amongst 3 living floors with 154 m2 of space. It is a stone built home with very thick walls and, while beautifully renovated, we have kept many original features of the home from the mid-1800's, including the ornate wooden front door, wooden beams along the ceilings, natural wood interior doors, granite circular stair case, marble fireplace, tiles in the bedrooms and entry hall, as well as wooden windows and shutters. We have 3 bedrooms for six people total (with additional sofa bed possible for 2 more), 2 1/2 bathrooms, patio off the kitchen, a gorgeous roof terrace with wonderful views of the surrounding hills (and astounding views of the stars at night), as well as a large garage (where the wine used to be made!). We are installing new A/C to provide cooling in all 3 bedrooms for the few days where the temperatures may rise in the Summer - these will help provide a wonderful night's rest in any weather!

LOCATION: The house is located near the centre of the picturesque village of Cessenon Sur Orb in the Orb valley, at the heart of the Languedoc region in Southern France. Walking distance to multiple french bakeries, a fully-equipped grocery store, restaurants and the wonderful Orb river which runs right through the middle of Cessenon Sur Orb and is a popular place to swim, fish, and canoe during the hot summer months.

POOL? Who needs one, when you are literally footsteps away from the Orb River, one of the most beautiful rivers for swimming, canoeing and kayaking in the area. Canoes/kayaks available for rent just down the road.

BIKES! Absolutely gorgeous roads and scenic areas for biking - truly a bikers paradise. We have two bicycles available for rent by guests at a discount rate. They are hybrid bikes suitable for easy trail riding or on the road.

EASY ACCESS: Can fly into Paris and take TGV high speed train to Beziers (train tickets available for 25-35 euro if you book more than 60 days out via trainline. From Beziers can taxi, rent a car, or even take a local bus for 1.60 euro. Alternatively, can fly into any major European city and then fly directly to Montpellier or Beziers.

Geräumig, charmant & perfekt gelegen

Schöne, geräumige Unterkunft im charmanten alten Stil, mit großem Herd, vielen guten Ventilatoren, Klimaanlage und einer herrlichen Terrasse. Der Check-in war unkompliziert und kontaktlos. Der Ort ist klein, aber schön – guter Metzger und Bäckerei sind direkt um die Ecke, der kleine Supermarkt ist fußläufig erreichbar. Der Fluss Orb ist traumhaft zum Baden, besonders die Pont de Réals (nur 7 Minuten mit dem Auto) – perfekt zum Schwimmen und Felsenspringen.Kleiner Hinweis: Die Holzböcke zum Absperren der Garage sollte man immer nutzen, damit die Ausfahrt frei bleibt.Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen und empfehlen die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter!

Wild swimming in the Orb Valley

We had a wonderful 2 week stay . The weather was perfect and allowed us to explore the fabulous wild swimming opportunities close by . We also got to the beach and to Bezier. The house works really well for us , the location and the layout and the hosts could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It is our second visit and we hope to return .

Home away from home in Cessenon-sur-orb

We enjoyed our stay in this traditional house. It had plenty of space. The terrace was great for a bbq. The hosts replied promply to queries and neighbours were friendly. The town was well placed for visiting tourist spots and for walks in the hills and along the Orb. The butcher and boulangeries were great. The local bar was very popular. The property is highly recommended.

Superbes vacances

Nous avons passé 10 jours à Cessenon sur Orb dans cette jolie maison de village, sur plusieurs niveaux. Il y a plusieurs étages et la terrasse sur le toit offre une très belle vue. La maison est grande, confortable et équipée ! La communication avec Tom et Dana était très simple et rapide bien qu ils soient à l étranger. (Voisins très serviables) Nous avons pu profiter des vélos sur place, très appréciables pour aller à la rivière en dehors de la plage de Cessenon et découvrir la région autrement. Pas mal d activités sur place (canoë, randonnées, visite des caves et autres petits villages).

lovely stay in authentic local southern village !

Nice house in the village with plenty of room and amneties. Living room and kitchen very spacious. A good place to discover the region with Kayaking, Bike riding all at hand. The kids could walk to river in the village entrance. Plenty of other spots to discover for those that want to swim elsewhere. Bezier and the Beach 20 mins by car. The Saint Chinian wine was way too easy to drink. For those that love nature it is a wonderful choice. The hosts are very kind and responsive. The olnly negative is that this area gets very hot in August and although we had fans, I would have killed for some real AC. However I am from Florida and am just not used to being without it. Highly recommended!

Superbe maison, super région, super village

Une magnifique maison, grande, agréable, totalement équipée situé au cœur du village. Un village sympathique, avec des commerces de proximités, des restos et bars, une plage pour se rafraichir, et de multiples activités dans les environs. Et pour finir, des propriétaires à l'écoute et très réactifs pour toutes les éventuelles questions. Nous avons passé 2 supers semaines.

Le confort dans le calme

LA maison très bien rénovée est spacieuse, confortable et bien chauffée. Sa situation dans le village la rend très pratique. On peut tout faire à pied. Dana et Tom sont soucieux du moindre détail. même s'ils ne sont pas sur place, leur entourage local pourvoira à tous vos besoins. nous avons fini 2020 de la meilleurs des façons, et ainsi nous avons commencé 2021 dans d'excellentes conditions. Un agréable séjour dans une belle et confortable maison avec de gentilles attentions. La région est propice à de magnifiques randonnées. Dommage que le site Abritel ait affiché un prix erroné dans un premier temps, ce qui a failli nous faire renoncer à la location.

Excellent!

We loved the house, we loved the village, we loved the river, right on the doorstep. Brilliant for swimming and kayaking and the house was spacious and relaxed with a brilliant roof terrace and shaded little courtyard. We felt lucky to have found it, thank you!

Spacy and cosy appartment in a beautiful village in the South of France. Beautiful surroundings The River Orb. Bathing from the bank. A couple of restaurents. Lokal Wine. Do the canöing from Rockebrun to Reals! Relax!

Sehr geräumiges typisch französisches Haus zum Wohlfühlen

Wer Südfrankreich liebt ist hier genau richtig! Bezaubernde Landschaft mit vielen Weinbergen, Blumen, Platanenalleen, Olivenbäumen, kleinen historischen Dörfern, schönem Fluss und der Nähe zum Mittelmeer. Das Haus ist in typischem Stil und sehr geräumig!!!! Wir waren dort mit 3 Erwachsenen und 3 kleinen Kindern und hatten bei Regenwetter im April genug Platz uns auszutoben ☺️ Dana und Tom sind einfach großartig!! Sehr hilfsbereit und großzügig! Vielen Dank dafür.

Excellent house close to all facilities in lovely ,friendly village.

Measured up fully to the description.Great position close to all amenities. A very friendly village. We were there during " vendage" which was hectic but fun. Good area for walking ( including regular views of kingfishers from the village bridge over the Orb) and Dana and Tom provided bikes. 3 weeks of unbroken sunshine and no rain!!! Only 30 mins from airport.We didnt want to leave !!

A perfect village property , close to the centre of the village and all amenities

Spacious with lots of traditional features , we loved the outdoor areas and being able to pop down to the shops and the Helder . We were a party of 5 and the large sitting room was great for us . We felt very at home and hated to leave .

Rundum zufrieden!

Wenn wir diesen Urlaub bewerten, dann müssen wir zuerst die Freundlichkeit und das Engagement der Vermieter und Ihrer Hausverwaltung vor Ort loben. Vom Anfang der Buchung bis zu unserer Abreise waren Sie stets ansprechbar und darum bemüht, für uns alles perfekt zu organisieren. Wir sind sicher: Wenn es etwas zu bemängeln gegeben hätte, wären sie sofort aktiv geworden, um Abhilfe zu schaffen. Aber wir haben ja nichts zu bemängeln: Das Haus ist großzügig und bestens eingerichtet. Mit dem kleinen Innenhof hat man stets einen Schattenplatz, oben auf der Dachterasse ein herrlichen Blick über die Dächer in die wunderschöne Landschaft. Die Betten sind prima, die Küche großzügig und gut ausgestattet. Das Wlan funktioniert hervorragend ebenso wie Fernseher und Soundanlage. Das Haus liegt zentral im Ort: Alles was man braucht - Bäcker, Supermarkt, Restaurants ein kleiner Markt (dienstags und samstags) und der Fluss mit Badestelle - sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. Natürlich hat das zur Folge, dass man mitbekommt, wenn das Leben im Ort erwacht oder auch Abends mal etwas länger und lebhafter anhält. Uns hat das nicht gestört. Wer aber absolute Ruhe möchte, sollte nicht mitten im Ort ein Ferienhaus buchen. Worüber man sich auch klar sein sollte, wenn man dieses wunderbare Haus mieten möchte: im Haus sind viele Treppen. Das hält fit, ist aber für Menschen mit Gehschwäche oder mit kleinen Kindern sicher sehr anstrengend. Das Haus ist ein idealer Standort, um von dort eine fantastische Gegend zu erkunden: Der Fluss bietet viele Gelegenheiten, sich sportlich zu betätigen. Ausflüge in die Berge und eine wilde Natur, Städtetouren nach Beziers, Montpellier, Narbonne oder Pezenas und das Meer bieten viele Möglichkeiten. Wir können das Haus nur empfehlen!
