"The property is set on 26 acres on a “small” river (Big Thompson River) in Estes Park. The grounds are nice, and set up as a wedding (or event) venue. They have a good bit of frontage along the river, with benches interspersed. We stayed in “Shooting Star” in the main building’s second (top) floor. "While the mountains that surrounded us were rocky, our stay here was nothing but smooth. The rooms were clean, breakfast was appetizing and had plenty of variety, the staff was super friendly, and the amenities were great! Hard to beat free s’mores! We’ve had little complaints while we were here (maybe a second waffle maker wouldn’t hurt!) and if we ever find ourselves in the area again, we’ll be sure to check in at the Estes Mountain inn."

"The free breakfast is nice because it's included in the price of the room but it's just okay. The man who worked in the office was the highlight of the property. He was helpful and very friendly and answered all my questions and came to my room immediately when I had an issue in the bathroom. The room was clean. "Old 1970’s building low ceilings with heavy metal doors at entry to hallways with no elevator to upper floors except the tower section. Paid 400$ a night for room, way over priced had to move right away because there was dirt on bathroom walls and behind sink and dirty toilet paper behind the door. Next room was up more stairs old over. Priced nothing like beds in advertising . Stairs to lobby and pool."

"Keep in mind, we visited in the peak of summer, this hotel is over 100 years old, and in the mountains. That being said, there is no AC in the rooms but there were plenty of fans provided which was enough to keep the room cool. The hotel has pretty outdoor areas and well kempt with a sparkling pool, cute fire pit area, and outside sitting area. Loved that the rooms had a small kitchenette to make or heat up food. Also loved the large traditional coffee pot as opposed to what newer hotels offer....

"We experienced a problem and our only option was to leave a message. The problem did eventually get fixed but we NEVER heard from anyone. The trout stream however was close, picturesque and fun to fish! And the cabin was nice and room for 4. Id happily rent there again."
