Site of Allendale station. View SW from B6303 road between Catton and Allendale Town in the valley of the River East Allen. The Allendale terminus of the ex-NER branch from Hexham had been ahead. It had closed eventually on 20/11/50, having lost its passenger service from 22/9/30.

Stayed over New Year and decided to stay and extra night as we felt so comfortable as staff and food were good. Room was a little small for a 'premium ' but adequate. Lovely quite place to stay
This is a lovely quiet place to stay, away from any disturbances. The welcome homemade lemon drizzle cake was very welcome and a nice touch. Beautiful scenery during the day and very dark skies at night for stargazing
