Exclusive villa above Taormina with pool and views of Etna and the sea

* In 2022/2023 the villa was tastefully renovated and furnished to a high standard *

The terraced Villa Bougainvillea is located in a spacious, exclusive ground on a steep south-facing slope. Inside the fenced 3000 sqm property there is parking space for two cars. Outside, on the street, is enough space for further cars.

The Villa comprises three levels: the main house and two apartment levels. You have the possibility to rent the Villa for 4, 6 or 8 people (9 upon request). Even renting the Villa for fewer people, you rent the Villa exclusively. The perfect privacy is guaranted.

In the main house there are two bedrooms with king-size beds, individual bathrooms, a spacious living room, a guest toilet, a fully equipped new kitchen, the dining room, a shady patio and the panoramic terrace. A new staircase into the garden was built 2023. From the panoramic terrace you can enjoy a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea, the bay of Naxos and Mt. Etna. The evening offers a fascinating panorama of lights.

On the middle-level and pool-level are two beautiful apartments with 2 double beds, individual bathrooms and small living rooms. Access to the apartments is either by the central or by the side open stairs.

Baby travel beds and baby equipment can be set up on request. We want you to travel lightly!
All rooms have air conditioning.
We use bed linen and towels made from 100% organic cotton.

The pool (~11.5 x 4,5 m) is located on the lowest level and is well protected from prying eyes due to its location.

A car is recommanded but not a necessity, public transportation is available in close proximity and you can walk down the breathtaking Madonna della Rocca path to Taormina and get back up by bus or Taxi (15-20 Euro one way for a Taxi).

The exceptional architectural concept of the Villa is designed for 6 to 8 people, offers lots of possibilities for privacy or to enjoy time in company. Ideal for friends, couples, families with children or extended families.

We were a group of 8 friends and we loved our stay at Villa Bougainvillea. The house, view and pool were beautiful, clean and comfortable. The hosts were very communicative and Silvana the property manager was awesome The walk down to Taormina is fine if you take it slowly, we even walked back up once. We did day trips to other places and were very happy coming home to jump in the swimming pool to cool off and enjoy the sanctuary of the villa. I highly recommend a stay at this lovely property.

Perfect stay for a multigenerational family in close to Taormina! Pool and views were gorgeous. We were connected to a driver who also made the stay much more manageable for the baby and older guests since the way up to the villa was very hilly. He was super communicative and became a highlight of our trip!

Amazing villa

My friends and I enjoyed a great stay in the villa. Spotlessly clean, really well equipped with amazing views of Taormina and Mount Etna. Plenty of space for all of us to socialise and cook in the well equipped kitchen. Easy access to the local area.

This was an amazing experience. The villa was really great. We felt really at home. Sylvia was so helpful with all our necessary needs. The house had all the things we needed. It was really a memorable 5 days. All of us had a fantastic time in this villa The most amazing part was when in the evenings we sat in the balcomy and watched the beautiful view of the city. It was breath taking. We spent our mornings swimming and the pool was a great way for us all to bond even more. We really would love to come back soon as we all loved our time in this house. Exquisite villa above Taormina

We absolutely loved our one-week stay in this stunning home — probably the most beautiful place we have ever rented.The house was ever so comfortable for our family of eight, which included our adult children, their partners, and our teenage granddaughter. The bedrooms (two of which are like private apartments) offer privacy and comfort, with quality mattresses, pillows and linens. The bathrooms are luxurious. The gourmet kitchen allowed us to easily cook and enjoy meals together. The outdoor patio, decks, and pool area are so beautiful, we never wanted to leave. And the views of Mt. Etna and the coastline are breathtaking.The house is located above Taormina on the road to Castelmola. It’s a steep climb, and we got a lot of exercise going up and down, but we also used taxis, bus and a rental car. There are many attractions one can do in the area, but the house alone makes for a desirable destination.Owner Daniela and house manager Silvana were exceptional in communicating with us both before and during our stay, and clearly care about their guests. This is a one-of-a-kind, memorable experience!

Villa Bougainvillea is a dream!!! I honestly don’t think the photos do it justice. The three levels of gorgeous terraces, balconies and pool provide the most amazing bird’s eye view of Taormina. The spaces are luxuriously large and the beautifully appointed, with a tasteful mix of antique and modern. There are two nice-sized rooms in the main house. One suite on the middle level and another larger suite on the lower level. The middle and lower levels both have gorgeous views. There is a driver that is happy to serve the house to get you back and forth from Taormina and Castlemola easily. The kitchen and laundry had everything we needed with the exception of a microwave. Traveling with kids, it would have been nice to have a microwave. We found the Villa a beautiful respite from the busy downtown and a great point to pivot to either Taormina or Castemola, which is a pristine, charming smaller village. The incredible vista of the Taormina, the sea and Etna will be imprinted on our minds forever! Also, the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful!

Etna erupted whilst we were there!!

A wonderful villa with terraces facing Mt Etna and a lovely pool. 7 of us stayed in this delightful villa in peaceful tranquillity, situated half way between Taormina and Castelmola, incredibly secluded location The house flows down the hill with main accommodation at Ground / entry level. This included 2 bedrooms suites, incredibly well equipped kitchen / triclinium (haha - dining room) , and open lounge, with the 2 terraces. Floor -1 had a further bedroom suite. Floor -2 another bedroom suite. We did not hire a car and relied on hired-in electric bikes, local buses and trains.....that all worked well, especially the E-bikes

Castelmola Villa in The Sky

To say that this Villa was BELLISSIMO is an understatement! Walking in with the manager to introduce us to every unique aspect made it a wonderful check in experience.Our 7day stay was not long enough for our family of nine members to explore every wonderful joy that Castelmola & Taormina possess. With tears in my eyes & a heart full of joy we hoped to return to view Etna & all the splendor that Sicily holds again!!

Magical villa

Fabulous property. Recently renovated with luxurious finishes. The entrance is discrete and when you enter the home, the view that unfolds is enchanting. The pool was so refreshing and a balm for tired legs. We hiked up to Castlemolo for breakfast and down to Taormina for lunch. The location is central for visiting Messina, Mt Etna and the vineyards as well as Taormina. We could have done more touring but the villa was so beautiful that we spent several days just enjoying the quiet and view from the terrace. The property has citrus trees that were laden with fruit. The mandarins were delicious.Our last night we were treated to a front seat to a significant Mt. Etna eruption. The next morning Etna was covered in snow. A magical visit.

Hill top abode

Beautiful property with exquisite views of Taormina and Etna. On our last night we had quite a show of Etna erupting in the night sky. The house is perfect for a multigenerational family with separate living spaces and then large communal spaces. Daniel and Raphael are great hosts with connections to drivers and private chefs. We had a memorable family trip that I will cherish.

Superschöne Villa. Sehr geeignet für 8 Personen, da es 4 große Zimmer gab jeweils mit einem eigenem Bad. Für unseren 3-Generationen-Familienurlaub sehr geeignet. Super Aussicht auf den Ätna und Taormina, jedoch etwas abseits. Zum Einkaufen und Essen muss man gut zu Fuß sein. Aber es gibt gute Busverbindung.

Perfect home for friends

We have just spent the most wonderful holiday in this villa. The owners certainly understand what it means to be a host. Communication before, during and after our stay was perfect: complete but not overly intrusive. The home was clean and elegant. The layout of 4 separate bedrooms and bathrooms gives each room privacy, while the common living areas are conducive to socialising with friends or family. This will forever be remembered by us as a place of joy, beauty and comfort.

Amazing Villa

The Villa was spectacular with an amazing view. Multi- level accommodations which was perfect for our group needs. It was well stocked and we appreciated the welcoming gift and little things like coffee, salt &pepper and other spices. It helps you don’t have to buy all these small items. The big table was great for eating and then games at night. Sitting outside with coffee in the morning and the view❤️👍. The pool was beautiful and clean - so lovely. A 5 start for sure.

Family Visit

My wife and I have 3 teenage boys. We came with both our parents and had an amazing vacation. The views are incredible, the beds are super comfortable, the layout of the house was perfect four our group. Close to both Taormina and castlemola. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get in until 1am and silvana met us and explained everything. She made everything very easy. Make sure you are okay walking some hills. They are not too bad and taxis are an option, but I highly recommend the steps down to Taormina.

What a gift!

This house was the absolute perfect house for our vacation. The owners from the very beginning were so kind and communicated so well! We had never been to Sicily before so we had very many questions and they were so patient and kind to help us plan our holiday! The house was beautiful. The view is beyond explanation! The furnishings were exquisite. The layout/floor plan was perfect for our group. The kitchen was well stocked, and they were kind enough to do a first shop for us and have it at the house. Each room was very special in its own way and the pool area was fabulous. The pool was clean and well kept. We would love to return.

Eveything we were expecting... and more

We were very impressed with the size of the property and the layout affording you and your guests the opportunity to break away and have some 'quiet time' if needed. Communication with Daniela (owner) and Stefania (manager) was great with a lot of local information provided and very accomodating with luggage due to silly flight times. Walk up to Castelmola is tough and would not recommend if not fit, especially in the heat. Would suggest using the bus or a taxi. There are three walks down to Taormina and equally relaxing however again I would suggest the bus or a taxi coming back. Taormina very busy and has loads of shops and restaurants. Castelmola quieter and predominantly restaurants with a few small shops. Takeaway pizzas from Nina's in Castelmola was a hit for the whole family. Would definitely recommend this property. Total gem

Our group of 7 had a wonderful stay at Daniela’s villa. The views are incredible both of Taormina and Mt Etna. We were lucky enough to even get a show from Etna while we were there. The location is amazing high above on the mountain. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance and you can drive up the mountain where the town of Castelmola is located. It’s a cute town to visit. You can walk down to Taormina in about 20 minutes or so on the steps. The villa is even better than the pictures. Inside it’s been furnished beautifully and the kitchen and bathrooms are super modern and beautifully done. The villa is spacious and the separate apartments were really enjoyed by the teens in our party. The pool is a great size and super private. It’s surrounded by lush landscape and you feel totally secluded. There are so many fruit trees and flowers all around. Communication with the owner was easy and quick. Totally recommend this villa.

Heaven above Taormina

99% positive: Extraordinarily clean house, sparkling pool, extremely functional kitchen. Air conditioning (much needed) perfectly effective. Minor negatives: beds too firm— and I like a very firm mattress. Insufficient number of towels — but host was quick to bring over a few more. Window shutters a little challenging, but we mostly worried about dislodging a panel. No dryer — as an American not accustomed to line drying every piece of washed clothing. With the house capacity for a large family, the washer is rather small— I spent too much time doing laundry. Would return in a heartbeat!

Absolutely stunning!

Lovely villa with stunning views of Taormina & the Ionian Sea. Tastefully furnished with all you need for an enjoyable stay! The owners went out of their way to accommodate our family and make us all feel welcome - including answering many questions and providing recommendations to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. The walk up from Taormina is a bit grueling but worth it for the views. Would love to return!

Wonderful stay at Villa Bougainvillea

We would highly recommend this beautiful villa in the Castelmola / Taormina area. The house has been recently renovated to a very high standard, and includes four bedrooms with ensuites, several indoor / outdoor lounge and dining spaces, and patio / pool with the most incredible views. We thoroughly enjoyed our days / evenings spent at the villa, lounging by the pool and cooking meals with family in the well-equipped kitchen. We walked down to Taormina several evenings for dinner (with taxi back) - and walked the scenic path to Castelmola one morning. The hosts were excellent with communications - and provided restaurant and other recommendations for the area. Thank you for such a memorable vacation!!
