"This hotel was the one-night magical stay we were hoping it would be. It felt like a well-maintained step back in time. The breakfast and restaurant were lovely, the staff were very friendly, and the grounds were STUNNING. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was to sit at the restaurant and to be outside - the flowers, the views, the touches. Absolutely loved it! My only disappointment was that we were there for our honeymoon, and even after contacting them before, the hotel didn't acknowledge...

"First of all, be aware that this hotel does not have air conditioning. Europe is experiencing unprecedented heat, so it is important to verify that AC is available. I indeed thought it was, only to be informed at arrival that "only some rooms are". The property itself is ok, amenities are few, reception closes at 6pm. Young, inexperienced staff. We stayed in the superior double" which was stifling and had no view. There are apparently some much better rooms in the hotel if one specifies...

"The hotel did not bother to advise us in advance that due to the Montreux Jazz Festival we would not be able to park in their parking . The sheets were very poor quality . The view and location is excellent but that’s about it "

"Very accessible. Also has central air conditioning, which became very important during the heat wave we suffered while visiting the Jazz Festival. Very friendly and accommodating desk staff. Wonderful management, as I could tell she runs a very tight ship. Also, it was great to be able to walk out of the front door of the hotel and go directly to the main platform of the train station, which was ultra convenient and that I was not fully aware of until I caught a train to Zurich. "Nice balconies"

"We drove and had a parking spot directly outside the front of the hotel. Upon arrival I asked if there was any upgrades to our original room which the hotel accommodated for a small fee. We was blessed with perfected weather and had an excellent view of the lake which made great memories"

"The last time i was at this property was nearly 15 years ago. It is still clean and well kept. The room we had was a bit small but ok for us. You could call them and request a larger room after the initial reservation. There is a nice breakfast available for 18 CHF but the regular restaurant wasn’t open at this time. The rooms are in urgent need of refurbishment to meet the standards expected at the price they charge. Here are my main gripes; No bath robes (only slippers - why?) "Great price for the smaller related hotel behind the royal plaza. We had full access to all the ameneties in the bigger hotel and the small one had unexpected features like a fridge and air conditioning which we didnt experience any where else in switz....for a fantastic price. Very happy!"

"The hotel is full of heritage, dating back to the mid 19th century. Both the building and its interior are fascinating, with relaxing colors that create a peaceful and stress-free atmosphere. We stayed for just one night during our long motorcycle trip, so unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to enjoy all the additional services the hotel has to offer. Our room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was amazing - exactly what we needed after several days on the road....
