This is 100% the worst experience I’ve ever had with a hotel. They held me captive against my will. I chose not to check in after seeing that they were giving me the run around with the hotel rooms. Not even one of the rooms looked anything like Expedias photos. They said thats Expedias fault for advertising that picture. I argued that Expedia doesn’t have time to be falsely advertising when they have millions of hotels to focus on. Nothing worked in the rooms, the lights in the primary bedroom didn’t work, the lock box didn’t work. The smell of mildew was beyond what my lungs could handle. I immediately went into an asthma attack. The hotel manager sent an employee to stop me and told their security to lock in my driver from leaving until I paid the $200 for one night. I was in the room for a total of 1-2 minutes and said if you can’t get rid of that smell and fix every issue that I need for a safe stay then I’m leaving!
This wasn’t American soil. This was in South America! I would never advise anyone to visit this nightmare hotel again! I went straight to the Hilton where they had compassion and kindness. Clean rooms and employees that do care about you and your wellbeing.
