Villa # 6550 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa

Thank you for considering our Villas at Omni’s La Costa Resort and Spa (“Resort”) for your travel to sunny San Diego. This is a unique vacation unit in that our Villa is located on the grounds of the Resort. With your stay you have FULL ACCESS to all amenities at the Resort. There are other condos in the area that advertise being “within the gates of the Resort” but are not actually on the grounds of the Resort and do not have the FULL ACCESS described herein. The question to ask others is, “do you check-in at the Resort’s front desk.” If the answer is no, they are not part of the Resort and you do not have access to the many amenities of the Resort including all pools, gym, Kidtopia©, room service, charging to room services, optional daily maid service from the Resort’s housekeeping team for $50 a day, the support of the Resort’s staff with any issues / concerns, and an overall very similar experience that you would have if booked through the Resort directly. The Resort has a condo hotel component to it. Some of its inventory are condo hotel units, which are the newest construction and largest units located at the Resort. If you book with us, you can elect to pay for daily maid service; as this is an optional service. When you book our Villa, you will check-in at the front desk of the Resort. You will also be sent a confirmation number of the Resort prior to your visit. You can then call the Resort to verify your name is on record for the dates you booked through us. This verification process adds an extra layer of protection for you for your upcoming stay compared to other vacation rentals on this site. When checking in, the Resort will collect a credit card for incidentals, however, outside the daily maid service that you could let them know at check-in if you would like, you will not have any additional charges other than what you pay here when booking. You will be able to charge room service to the room, order movies, and charge restaurant/bar bills to your room during your stay. Your credit card will be used to cover these charges when you check-out.

Omni's La Costa Resort and Spa has championship golf and tennis on site as well as a world renowned spa. In addition, the resort has an array of other amenities including restaurants, boutique shops, the Chopra Center (yoga), etc…

We typically book through Omni but stumbled across this Vrbo. Josh was great! Very receptive and listing described everything to a T. Room was just what we needed this time around. Clean, cozy and capabilities to charge everything to the room was awesome! Only downfall was front desk. They checked us in, gave us keys and then questioned our ability to check in early and then demanded the keys back. I would not recommend that particular employee to work for this kind of property. Host was great and gave us some direction which worked. Would definitely recommend this host and all his other properties!

Amazing access to all of the Omni resort amenities (pools, water slides, etc). Parking was a bit of a confusing process and the room itself looked a little worn (the ice machine was leaking, there is a bar on the microwave that is missing, furniture has some dings, a tile on the bathtub is falling off, and the bed springs on the pull out sofa are lackluster at best. BUT the space is comfortable and suited our needs, and the resort itself is fabulous.

The unit was clean and looked just like the photos. The property has everything you need and we enjoyed multiple meals at the onsite restaurants. The splash pad water was a little cold but the rest of pools were nice and heated. If you want to use the Kidtopia child care amenity, make a reservation 24 hours in advance. We had some trouble with the front desk at check in and access to amenities but the host, Joshua was very responsive and called us back right away to help us sort it out. Would stay here again!

The Property is amazing, access to multiple pools and jacuzzi. The unit was a mix between Mediterranean and Mexico, it was absolutely perfect, big room, great balcony, close enough to the pool, yet not overlooking so you don't have to deal with the pool noise. The Balcony was perfect spot for a cocktail in the evening and coffee in the morning. We will be back again soon, next time for 3-4 nights.

We stayed at this propery for Father's Day weekend with our family of 4 (2 kids under 12). The unit is EXACTLY as pictured in the photos. The problem is that the hotel and the owner are clearly not on the same page. To start, check in says 3pm on the listing. We arrived at 3:17pm and we were told by the hotel front desk, "Our check in times are 4pm. The unit is not ready." I explained to the front desk that I reserved this privately owned unit through VRBO and showed her the listing. She quickly said, "The owner should change it to say 4pm or later. That is misleading." So I immediately messaged the owner. He replied right away, and said, "Okay I will call teh front desk and ask when it will be ready." The front desk was there to tell me face to face, "4pm or later." I told the owner he should change the listing. Sure enough, the unit was not ready until 10 after 4. Once we arrived in the unit, our keys did not work. We had to walk all the way back to the lobby to request new keys. It was 4:45pm before we were inside the unit. The unit was clean and exactly as pictured. It's definitely on the outer edge of the Omni La Costa, so it would not be ideal walking with little kids. There was NO housekeeping for us the entire stay-- no fresh towels, no sheets/bed service, no ice, no room service. We called to request all of these things, and we were told time and time again, "This unit does not receive these services." So yes, while you might be saving a little money by renting this privately owned unit, you will NOT be getting the full experience of the hotel amentiies (which in my opinion, is getting at least fresh towels every day and getting your room cleaned.) We even asked for ice (there is no ice machine anywhere near by), and they simply declined. I wish I had known we would be forsaking those kinds of simple niceties--or else I would have rather booked through the hotel. When I wrote to the owner to express my disappointment, his exact response was, "Hello, please read what you booked. Our condo is not part of the hotel. I am sorry you feel that way, but it is clear in our description that our condo is not part of the hotel. There is nothing in there that says that you have room service." Hmmm... I wasn't asking for room service. We were asking for ice and water. That being said, we did have access to the pools on property without issue. No gym access though. Overall, would not rent again.

Check in was smooth at the hotel. Room wasn’t ready until 3pm as promised but they gave us access to the pool. Room was super clean. Parking was close and easily accessible. We were able to access the main pool area as they were not checking key cards.

Thank you for a great weekend away! We had such a nice time and the studio was fantastic! Just so you are aware a few things which didn’t work upon arrival- the cold faucet on the right hand sink and one cupboard had broken shelving. Nothing which bothered us much since the other sink faucets worked and we didn’t need to use the cupboard space. The bed was super comfortable, everything was very clean, and the location was great too. Hope to be back soon, thanks again!

Loved our time here, it is such a beautiful & peaceful resort! The price was excellent for the very nice Spanish style studio room which fits 2-3 people perfectly! Check-in at the hotel was very easy - just ask at hotel check-in for instructions on where to self-park in front of hotel room and also for instructions on how connect to the excellent wifi! The room was very well maintained and clean. The air conditioning, black-out shades, and beautiful view out the balcony were great! The appliances could be updated but not a big deal, housekeeping was excellent, brought up extra bedding to put over the couch for my child which made it very comfortable - as I didn’t check to see what the pull-out bed was like after reading other reviews. This turned out to be an excellent vacation - so many amazing restaurants within 10-15 minutes or options at the resort too. And it’s near the lagoon, ocean, Legoland, outdoor shopping malls, etc. We had such a great time!
