Large tastefully modernised house in two acres, with outstanding views

A tasteful barn conversion with something for everyone to enjoy the perfect French holiday. Grand Saint Nazaire offers a large, private (heated) swimming pool with stunning, uninterrupted views over the vineyards towards the ancient Cathar church of Capestang and the Black mountains beyond. The house has three levels. The ground floor has a spacious open plan kitchen that opens into a large dining area and sunny terrace. A spacious living room with three sofas and a 42inch LCD satellite TV and DVD, overlooks the vineyards. There is a downstairs WC and separate utility room (washing machine and drier). A further room with day beds may be separated from the living room to offer additional accommodation. It has glass doors that open onto the south-facing terrace.The first floor offers three bright double bedrooms and two stylish bathrooms. The house benefits from a privileged position set in the vineyards that overlook Capestang.
On the upper first floor are three further bedrooms (two of which are en suite) and a study .These rooms feature exposed timbers and stone walls with French windows overlooking the vines to Capestang.
The large pool and mature garden can be fully enclosed for the safety of small children.The pool is 11m x 7.5m, max. which includes the lounging step. Large walnut, olive and fruit trees provide shade. Outside there is also a petanque pitch and table tennis and a hammock.The grounds are private and extend to over two acres with around one third used for the garden and pool area and the remainder under vines.
NB: Attached barns: The House is part of an old wine domain called Grand Saint Nazaire. The attached barns belong to the property and are only used by the owner out of the rental season.

The house was everything we had hoped for to celebrate our Golden Wedding and our granddaughters first birthday with members of our family. Communication with Phil, the owner, was easy and any questions were answered and dealt with straight away. Ten adults and one baby filled the bedrooms but there was plenty of space to relax together or apart! A fantastic holiday for us all.

Wir haben im Juli 11 wundervolle Tage in diesem Ferienhaus verbracht – gemeinsam mit drei Familien (6 Erwachsene und 7 Kinder).Wir können uns den begeisterten Bewertungen absolut anschließen: Das Haus und der Garten sind in Wirklichkeit noch schöner als auf den Fotos! Die Einrichtung ist sehr geschmackvoll und das gesamte Haus in einem sehr guten Zustand.Der Pool war für uns alle ein Highlight – groß, gepflegt und einfach perfekt für Groß und Klein. Auch der Garten ist weitläufig und sehr gepflegt, mit einer traumhaften Aussicht auf Capestang und die umliegenden Weinberge.Das Haus war außerdem ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für unsere Ausflüge ans Meer sowie nach Carcassonne, Montpellier, Béziers, Narbonne und Perpignan – alles gut erreichbar und absolut lohnenswert.Kurz gesagt: Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können dieses Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen!

Wonderful secluded and tranquil house.

Perfect place to relax and enjoy the peaceful French countryside. The owner was very helpful and communicative throughout the booking process and even while we were staying at the house. Lots of places to explore within an hour’s drive and the pool was great as we contended with 42C heat.

Fantastic house for family holiday

We had a fantastic stay at Le Grand Saint Nazaire. The house was better in real life than in the pictures. The living space was perfect for our group of 12. The children loved the pool and games. The kitchen was very well stocked for equipment and we ended up eating in every night as we just didn’t feel the need to leave! Plenty of convenient shops and Capestang centre is a lovely village to visit. We would love to visit again in the future.

Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay for a week. We were 3 families (6 adults, 6 young children). The house has everythine one needs for a comfortable, week long stay. The house is spacious with great social spaces. There are also wonderful outdoor spaces so we never felt closed in. The children enjoyed the pool. Short drive to the shops and the Capestang is a lovely area. The owner was very responsive, highly recommended.

Good spacious property for sharing in excellent location

We loved the ambience of Gd St Nazaire and the large comfortable spaces it offers for sharing with friends. Plenty of good bathrooms tho the stairs to the 2 en suites on the top floor were very steep.Enjoyed the pool and boules pitch when we could (weather a bit iffy). Could have done with a decent-size stove top and oven-proof casserole and a few more decent size wine glasses as we enjoy cooking and exploring wines, but managed fine. Good fridge and was very glad of the ice-making facility. Phil very helpful before and during our stay. We were extremely sorry to leave and would gladly return.

Een mooi vakantiehuis met mooi zwembad en prachtige omgeving.

Prachtig uitzicht vanuit je slaapkamer naar de wijnboomgaarden. Veel ruimte in het huis, we waren met 12 personen. Kinderen hebben genoten van het vele zwemmen , biljarten en tafeltennis. Zeer mooi zwembad, Goede communicatie met de verhuurder. Veel te doen in de omgeving. Echt een aanrader.

Maison avec potentiel extraordinaire

Nos vacances se sont passées vraiment très bien! Trop courtes! La maison est parfaite pour un groupe de 12 personnes. Nous avons pu profiter de tout ce qu'elle offrait comme prestation! la piscine extraordinaire, la piste de pétanque, le salon spacieux, les chambres appropriées pour 3 familles avec des enfants et adolescents. La maison est effectivement rénovée avec goût. Merci aussi au propriétaire, Phil, d'être resté en contact avec nous pour répondre aux questions! Peut-être faudrait-il juste déposer à l'entrée un manuel ou se trouvent les différentes choses nécessaires (coussins transat par exemple...). L'emplacement de la maison est pratique pour se rendre a des activités différentes avec la voiture. Merci encore!!

Capestang in the sun

The property fully met our hopes. The house and grounds are just as described and as shown in photographs. Infact my own favourite spot of an afternoon was sitting under the olive tree adjacent to the house was a bonus. We travelled as a family of 12 persons with ages ranging from 3 to 68yrs and all were catered for. Fatastic pool which was in constant use given the heat during the day. In all thank you and would highly recommend.

Belle propriété

Propriété très agréable avec une très belle piscine pour en profiter avec la famille et les amis. Des belles chambres et salles de bains, idéales pour une dizaine de personnes. Etat impeccable à notre arrivée. Petit bémol pour le barbecue (grilles, foyer et ustensiles) qui n'avait apparemment pas été nettoyé depuis un moment. Petit parking à l'entrée, un peu difficile pour manœuvrer avec 3 voitures. Globalement, un séjour très agréable, proche de Narbonne, Béziers et de la plage.

Idéalement située au milieu des vignes, nous avons passé un excellent séjour en famille dans cette grande maison bien équipée. La région donne de nombreuses possibilités de ballades et de découvertes .. la semaine est passée trop vite …beau terrain de pétanque mais prévoyez vos boules ..😀

Super séjour en famille!

la maison est grande et pleine de charme, nous étions nombreux mais tout le monde avait un grand espace bien équipé et meublé avec goût (2 chambres sur les 6 sont des suites avec SDB). Le salon est incroyable, la cuisine reçoit la grande tablée sans problème. L'extérieur est agréable pour faire du sport (badmington, ping pong, foot, terrain de pétanque), la piscine est super ... C'est Christine (voisine) qui accueille, très agréable et sait être disponible si besoin. Bref je suis enchantée de mon séjour et je recommande ++.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit viel Platz

Wir haben unseren Sommerurlaub in diesem Haus sehr genossen. Gerade die Kinder haben den Pool super genutzt und da er nicht direkt an die Terasse angrenzt, hatten die Eltern ein wenig Ruhe. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, die Zimmer schön groß und die Betten sind in Ordnung. Es ist reichlich Spielzeug für Kinder vorhanden (Kicker, Billard, Pool-Spielzeug). Capestang ist ein sehr netter Ort mit tollem Markt zweimal die Woche und ein perfekter Startpunkt für viele Ausflüge. Der Weg zum Strand war noch ok, aber mit 40 Minuten Fahrt muss man rechnen. Phil als Gastgeber hat viel Material zur Verfügung gestellt um sich perfekt vorzubereiten und auch viele tolle Tipps für Ausflüge in seinen Materialien gehabt. Christine ist vor Ort, jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr hilfreich. Wir hatten nach ein paar Regenfällen leider ein wenig mit Fliegen und Mücken zu kämpfen, dafür konnten wir die Lage abseits des Trubels sehr geniessen.

Heerlijk huis

Heel fijn huis met een prachtig zwembad op een mooie plek. Aan alles is gedacht en het huis is heel netjes. Goede uitvalsbasis voor uitstapjes. Wij komen hier graag nog een keer terug!

Très belle et grande maison familiale

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en familles dans la maison de Phil. La maison est très spacieuse et très bien équipée pour les enfants. La piscine est très grande et agréable. Et la région est magnifique. Ps: pour les amateurs de tennis il y a un terrain à Poilhes, en assez piteux état mais libre d'accès contrairement à Capestang.

Charmigt hus med utrymme och trivsel

Bostaden hyrdes för en kursvecka med 12 personer. Både kurs, matlagning, bad i poolen och närhet till Capestang var utmärkt. Fastighetsförvaltarens utmärkta respons på önskemål och annan service var mycket positivt. Stora ytor i många rum med trevliga sovrum och ett mycket trivsamt vardagsrum.

Parfait!!!!

Excellente location pour un groupe de 12 avec enfants! La bâtisse est très belle, décorée avec goût. La cerise sur le gâteau, une belle piscine. Malheureusement, le temps n'était Pas de la partie. Je recommande a tous ceux qui veulent découvrir la région. L’emplacement est idéal entre l’Hérault Et l’aude. Merci à Phil pour son accueil chaleureux! A bientôt

A lovely house in a beautiful setting

We had a great week in the villa, with the beautiful weather we spend lots of time spend in the pool, which is large, well heated and has a beautiful setting. We very much enjoyed the setting in the middle of the vineyards with beautiful views from the terrace, as you are in rural area you do get some bugs but good mosquito repellent gets you a long way. The house could easily accommodate our group of 11 people, it is large and comfortable, good size bedrooms with comfortable beds and very nice bathrooms with good showers. It is a quiet location with lots of privacy but close to the bakery and supermarket as well as many nice places to visit such as Carcassonne, Perpignan, Pezenas, the Gorge d'Heric and of course Beziers and the Canal du Midi. Communication with Phil was very easy with always quick and clear replies. We very much enjoyed our time spend here and highly recommend it!
