The Peach House is an iconic Cape Charles home that was featured in the New York Times as one of the first houses renovated as Cape Charles started to be rehabilitated a few decades ago. It was purchased on a credit card! That owner did a full rehab and built the kitchen cabinets and counters herself.

We think Peach St. is about the best place to stay in Cape Charles as you are a half block to Central Park one way, downtown the other way (right next to AJ's and Deadrise Pies!) and a quick four blocks to the beach. Our family of five LOVES to come down whenever we can by ourselves or with friends and are sad to head home every time we leave!

You will love spending time on one of the three porches in the home - we think the Peach House might be one of the last in Cape Charles to have both a downstairs and an upstairs screened porch. Prep a meal inside while the kids watch a show on the porch TV!

A paddle board and kayak are in the backyard that you can pop in your car to enjoy on the bay.

This is a HISTORIC home built in 1904 with quirks and charm so please be aware of this before booking. Here is our completely honest disclaimer so you know exactly what you are getting!
• The full bathroom upstairs is attached to the bedroom at the top of the back staircase. When multiple families stay, guests in the front bedroom will likely go downstairs and use the half bath at night. We hope to turn the tiny bedroom in the front of the home into a bathroom in the future.
• The only shower and tub inside are in the upstairs full bath. In the summer, this does not seem to be a big deal as most guests take advantage of the outdoor shower. However, in the colder months, please be aware of this if multiple families are staying in the home.
• The kitchen is also on the list to be remodeled – it works fine right now but does not have a dishwasher.
• It’s also a historic home – being at the beach the floors sometimes get a little dusty and are a little squeaky. Occasionally, there will be bugs inside – again – it’s an older house at the beach and please expect some of these things as part of the charm!
• We also had one person complain that we do not have china – we thought at first they meant Chinese food in town – however they meant fine china. Mostly including this in our disclaimer because we thought it was funny, however please know that we have cool kitchen dishes, but they are not … china.
• Finally – know that our cleaning fee is less than what our cleaner actually charges. Please be aware of this if you book – especially in the off season when you have the chance to book for killer rates as we like to allow as many people as possible to get to enjoy one of our favorite places! We have the best cleaner on the Shore working with us, however it is hard to find reliable people in this somewhat remote location. Hopefully that’s why you’re pumped to stay in Cape Charles anyway …
