My experience was not as expected for several reasons. In sum, I did not feel I was at a JW. One issue was that everyday was very stressful because there were no chairs available to seat at the pool. Guests would at 6am leave towels and informally “reserve” their spot. While I understand it was high season, a higher tier marriott (JW) should have this guest to pool chairs ratio figured out. In checkin, I was also placed in a ground floor room that felt like a corner basement room. Perhaps because I was a solo traveller? It had a balcony that led to an unpleasant looking exterior concrete patio. I paid average $500 per night this felt like downgrade. I had booked partial ocean view. Most importantly, I didn’t feel safe, especially as a solo traveller. I asked to be moved to a non ground floor and was told to wait until the next day. I was moved to a new room at 5am after insisting, because was not able to sleep. I booked this hotel because it was JW but overall was not happy with the experience.
