Not worth it! Our VRBO nightmare! Originally our family of 5 (2 Adult and 3 children), we were planning to stay at this location for just over 2 months but were forced to cut it short and find alternate arrangements. Upon arrival we immediately noticed the house was not 100% as described. The photos in VRBO listing make it seem like the house was recently renovated, Hardwood floors throughout the upper level with moderate to higher end finishes throughout and reasonable furnishings, which is what we were expecting considering the rate the host requested. What we received was house with extremely uncomfortable sleeping arrangements, a main floor covered in miss matched area rugs covering damaged hardwood flooring, duct tape & tuct tape finishes, Black Mold, Broken washing machine with a note to be repaired 1/2 way through our stay, Nonfunctioning blinds, peeling wallpaper throughout the upper washroom, damaged fixtures in various locations, fabric coverings over the leather sofa due to the quality of leather making it again uncomfortable to use, non-functioning electrical outlets in the master bedroom and various damaged finishes throughout the entire house. The space is only legally allowed by the City of Calgary to have a maximum of 4 occupants on the main level as the basement did not pass required safety codes, so the listing capacity is a lie and the kitchen is a gas stove that has an exhaust within the house that sets the CO2 alarm almost every time you cook.

This house is in an excellent location close to shopping open concept living area is bright and sunny, very clean and presentable inside. Well equipped with towels, paper towels, etc. There were various burnt out lights when we arrived however the owners did come and change them for us the following day. Downside is all the uncomfortable furniture. I actually brought my lawn chair into the living room to have a chair I could sit in. The yard is very unkept with weeds and lots of rubbish throughout the backyard area. If this were cleaned up and presentable is a lovely outdoor space to spend time however not in the condition it currently is. There is also an egress window well inside the garage that is a big safety hazard. This window well should be closed in so no one falls into it which I almost did the first time we drove into the garage.

Overall, the stay from September 3-13 with 4 guests was pleasant. The following points to be considered by the hostess for future guests:1. There should be adequate (40 piece) crockery and cutlery sets in the kitchen to load the dishwasher.2. The mattresses in the basement needs to be upgraded 3. The laundry room needs to be safe (loose boards and uneven floor)4. The backyard was not safe to move garbage due to construction materials scattered around.5. No AC, so summer trips would be hot even with the fans in every room6. Parts of the house seem to be in various stages of renovation. Once all the construction is completed, it will be an attractive and comfortable place to stay for its prime location7. The hostess arranged for a gas barbeque, grilling tools and steak knives which were not on the list and helped us cook outdoors

We arrived at the home and everything appeared to be great. But once we started to get into making supper and stuff we soon realized that the kitchen was very under stocked. We ended up purchasing large mixing bowls, a salad spinner/strainer, some measuring cups and measuring spoons, some paper plates and plastic cutlery, parchment paper, tin foil, Saran Wrap, ziploc bags, amongst some other things. The home was very hot and there weren’t many windows to open and we couldn’t get the furnace fan to turn on to circulate some air. The bathtub was very grungy and we had to clean it using some comet we found under the sink. The home had some questionable repairs done to it recently and there was duct tape holding things together. We wanted to go out on the patio to enjoy some fresh air but the grass was in major need of a mow so we didn’t. At the end of our stay we noticed we had some bed bug bites and upon further investigation found that there were indeed some bed bugs in the home. The owner was notified but I found it hard to communicate with the owner as their English was quite broken. If I were to stay in a Vrbo again I would definitely do more research when looking for the right property.

Close to TONS of amenities (groceries, restaurants, SouthCentre Mall), easy access to main thoroughfares (McLeod Trail) and a beautiful, quiet neighborhood.

Place was great and Rita was an amazing host. Quick to respond and resolve any issues that may came up. The coffee maker failed to work and she replaced it the following day. I would definitely stay here again for either work or personal reasons.

The house was clean and big enough for 5 adults and 2 children. The kitchen had enough pots and pans for our needs. Rita communicated with us during our stay. We were disappointed that there was no hot tub as advertised. The week we were there was extremely hot and we realized there was no AC. However, there were fans available for us to use.
