  • Welcome to our truly unique and one of a kind Costa Rican Villa retreat a perfect blend of tranquility and convenience. Located approximately 10 minutes North of Tamarindo which is a vibrant surf town, where you and your family can enjoy many beachfront Restaurants, Shops, Spa's and a fun night life. We are a short drive or UBER to more than 8 of the best beaches along the "Gold Coast" of Guanacaste. Great for Surfing, Snorkeling, Kayaking, Paddle boarding or just relaxing. We chose this area because we love the town of Tamarindo and all of the hustle and bustle but we didn't want to live in the middle of it. We preferred living in a quiet central location with a short and easy drive to all of the amazing beaches and activities. We loved the jungle feel on this tree covered property. When you stay at our Villa, you will also get Dominic, he can be your personal concierge while in Costa Rica. Dominic speaks several languages and has extensive local contacts for rental cars, Volcano adventures, fishing & Sailing boats, surfing lessons and virtually anything else you need or might want to do. Dominic has saved our guest hundreds of dollars when booking excursions. Our goal is to make this trip as memorable and as safe possible. Perfect for artist, couples, small families or a few close friends. Dipping pool with Ranchetta for additional space to chill. Public transportation directly in front of our villa including UBER now, available should you decide not to rent a vehicle. Proud to be a Premier Partner Host. Really great, unique home. Excellent location, close to a variety of amenities, beautiful beaches and tours. Outdoor space was wonderful. Lots of extras provided which made for a really nice stay.

Wow, that sums it up the host is great, property is nice with no issues. Star of the show is Pantera the dog. Honorable mentions daily morning visits by the group of howler monkeys, iguanas and even bats hanging out in the balcony. This was our first trip to Costa Rica and this property and its host Domonic were exactly what we were looking for in a low key relax vacation, we will be back.

That was a second stay in Casa Castaway and loved every single day. The owner is very attentive of his guests and thought of everything to make our stay perfect. The property manager and cleaning lady are just leaving beside and that makes a huge difference to have them on site. In the future, l will look for the same so in case we need something, it is easy to get it. This villa has everything one family needs, from surf boards, amenities, kitchen stuff, etc.I strongly recommend this host and this villa!

Great spot to stay in CR

Wow, we really felt like we were in the perfect spot—both isolated and connected! Just a quick 15-minute drive from the lively coast, our family had the chance to unwind and enjoy the sounds of monkeys nearby. The house was super cozy and had everything we could possibly need. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great getaway!

Monkey Paradise

We loved our stay at Casa Castaway. Our favorite part was the space in the home for 3 adults and 3 BIG KIDS:):) We got to see the monkeys during the am and pm moving their families down the creek. This was a very peaceful location far enough away from Tamarindo beach to enjoy without the large crowd. We look forward to staying here again.

Amazing stay near Tamarindo

Casa Castaway was a fantastic place to stay in Costa Rica. The pool and patio were inviting. The vibe of the house is a so cool between the surfboard decor and local art. The house is well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The location is close to many awesome beaches. We’d love to come back again.

Place was awesome and just a short drive to many awesome beaches. Far enough away from town where we felt like we were experiencing the Costa Rican jungle. Pool and deck spaces were swesome. .

We loved our stay. The house was amazing and we loved the pool with the resident iguana. Fonz took a lot of time to talk to us about local recommendations from things to do, to places to eat. I really appreciated his availability. Dominic and Maria were super helpful too! A great place to stay!!!

It has it all!

Our stay at Casa Castaway was terrific! This house has everything you think you may have left at home and more. We used the kitchen and the grill and spent a lot of time in the pool. The dog who lives on the property was so friendly and we enjoyed seeing him every morning. This place is private but is also close to it all.

Beautiful Property

This was a wonderful stay, the property had absolutely everything we as a family needed to enjoy our vacation, Daniel was such a pleasure to meet, we loved Pantera visits, the property is close to everything - gas station, grocery stores, Tamarindo is about 10 min away max, pool is very nice too, with iguanas visiting all the time, we loved the stay , highly recommend, thank you!!!

Great Spot in Tamarindo

This house is great! Bedrooms are comfortable, the outside dining area is great for grilling the fish you caught the same day, and the kitchen is well set up for making a nice meal. The best part may have been Pantera! Wonderful pup came to visit up both morning and evenings; quite but very happy to see us and get scratches. Super fun.

Family of 4

I don’t think we’ve stayed in a property that was better stocked. You don’t need to bring a thing. There’s markets very nearby, and the location is central to almost everything. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures and comfortably slept our family with a whole different room to spare. Pool is beautiful.

Thoughtful hosts during our long stay

As many have already said, this property is special because of the people (and dog). Fonz was very responsive to any requests, and having Dominic onsite made everything easy. We moved to Costa Rica temporarily and stayed at Casa Castaway for 2.5 months so we got to know the house and area well. It's a good location, quiet and outside of Tamarindo, but be aware that you should rent a car to easily get around. The house is thoughtfully equipped and suitable for long-term stays. We will not forget it! (or Dominic, Maria and Panterra) Thank you!

Beautiful home away from home

We all loved the house with all of its charm and comfort! Ideal having 2 levels to provide space and retreat for larger families and/or dynamics. Ambiance is fantastic with beautiful decks, outdoor beauty with trees/shrubs and tastefully decorated living space. So many conveniences while being away from home. We felt safe with the security system and doors/locks so that was a big deal for us being in a different country. There's even a property manager for on the spot recommendations and/or questions, etc. Great location to so many beaches and other attractions. It's also supplied with luxuries for the beach such as chairs, snorkeling gear, paddle boards, coolers! Win-win!!!
