Modern Fisherman's Cottage with Stunning Uninterrupted Views of the Moray Firth

This beautifully built modern property is directly opposite one of the best secluded sandy beaches in Findochty, and has stunning views of the Moray Firth. In the 1800's fishing was conducted from this natural inlet and this is also where the famous painting 'Home With The Tide' was painted by James Clarke Hook, which currently hangs in the Tate Gallery. The house provides the perfect place for relaxation and unwinding. Spend some time wandering through the historic fishing streets and walk along to the marina to watch it's creel and pleasure boats, then amble up to the cliff tops to take in the panoramic views or even a spot of dolphin watching! There are other beaches within easy walking distance and opportunities to be more active with cycling, golfing and sailing nearby.

The house was absolutely perfect for me as I was in area for the anniversary of my Sons death. The house left feeling a lot better than when I arrived. I finally managed to sleep. Would definitely recommend the house to anyone and I will definitely be back.The house was Beautifully presented with everything you could possibly need for your stay. Bed was extremely comfortable.

Lovely cottage, all as expected from the description and photos. Fantastic setting on the little beach. Heating worked well. Comfy beds. Parking straight in front for 1 car. Host was responsive and helpful. Thanks for a good stay!

Absolutely fabulous few days in this cottage. Accommodation was just perfect, clean and very well equipt. location was perfect. Looking out onto a smalm bay, where we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins passing by. The locals were so friendly and welcoming. Im just sad we had to leave so soon. We are hoping to co.e back for a bit longer in tbe summer.

Everything about our stay was fantastic, the property was excellent, in a great location with sea views, and our own little beach. In the village there's a lovelly harbour, a well stocked shop and a pub that serves great meals. We did'nt see any dolphins, maybe next time.

A pleasant relaxing stay

good instructions on how to find the property and gain entry. Very well equipped kitchen. Property cleaned to a high standard. Comfortable beds. Lovely views over the Moray firth.Good drawer space but no wardrobe as was mentioned in a previous review. We brought our own over the door hangers that resolved that little problem. All in all a lovely relaxing stay.

Das Objekt entsprach der Beschreibung. Leider wurde der Aufenthalt dadurch getrübt, das die Küche nicht ordentlich gereinigt war. Alle anderen Räume waren sauber und man konnte sich wohl fühlen.

Sehr schöner Ort und gute Lage aber Verbesserungspotenzial

Das Haus hat eine sehr gute Lage direkt am Meer und das Check In und die Kommunikation vor dem Aufenthalt verliefen unkompliziert und verlässlich. Das Haus machte bei der Ankunft insbesondere in der Küche einen etwas "schmuddeligen" Eindruck, die Sauberkeit lässt zu wünschen übrig (Haare von den Vorgängern unter dem Bett, sehr schmutzige Waschmaschine und Badewanne, schmutziges Geschirr in den Kästen etc.). Die Angaben i.S. Wäschetrockner sind nicht korrekt (es gibt keinen Wäschetrockner) und Kochen ist nur schlecht möglich, da es kaum brauchbare Pfannen gibt. Bei der Ankunft betrug die Temperatur im Haus lediglich 13 - was sehr unangenehm war. Allerdings liess sich das Haus problemlos und rasch heizen und wir hatten die restlichen Tage eine angenehme Temperatur. Die inklusiven Leistungen scheinen recht beschränkt, z.B. standen uns für den Aufenthalt von 1 Woche pro Person nur je 1 Duschtuch und 1 Handtuch für beide zur Verfügung und auch die Kehrrichtsäcke schienen abgezählt zu sein (1 im Eimer plus einen Ersatz). Der Preis wurde bei einer rechtzeitigen Reduktion der Dauer nicht angepasst und wir zahlten für 7 Nächte den gleichen Preis wie wir auch für 10 Nächte gezahlt hätten (undurchsichtige Preispolitik).

Fantastic location

We had a great stay. The cottage had everything we needed, plus the lovely view. Findochty is a very photogenic village, so I was out and about taking photos at all hours! On our arrival we were welcomed by dolphins frolicking in the sea in front of the cottage. The evening before our departure we were treated to the sight of a pod of orcas cruising past, quite close to the shore.

Perfect

I had a really perfect stay at the cottage. The property itself is well equipped and really homely and the location is just amazing. Watched the dolphins right from the house, saw amazing sunsets and dipped in the sea at the cove. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed.
