When I arrived (very early in the morning) the guy at the front desk said I could not wait in the lobby until check-in. Even though he knew I was staying two days at the hotel.
Then he said he would let me check in at 10 and ask for €100. I said could I have a receipt he said no.
He also offered to let me check in at one (usual check-in is at two) for €50.
Before I arrived in Brussels, the woman at Hilton on the phone said that if they had space and the room was available, they would allow me to check in early. The guy at the desk, however, said they had the room but had a strict policy.
When I was checking out, I did not receive a receipt because I was told I had booked it on Expedia. However, when I got home, I confirmed that I had not paid by Expedia and so I wrote to the Hotel to ask for my receipt. Then I wrote again. In my third try, I finally said that the charge was on my credit card and if I did not receive a response from the hotel after three days and three tries, I would tell the Credit Card to null the cost because there is no receipt to prove it and they could deal with a credit card
All in all service fitting a two star hotel
