"The property was of a basic nature and very tired in places. The bathroom paint was peeling off the walls. The bed was a small queen bed that wasn't big enough for 2 adults to get a good night sleep. The mattress was very thin and uncomfortable. Due to this we left the property early and had to book a hotel. I also tried to contact the property as advised by Sykes cottages, but my calls were unanswered and not returned. Overall a disappointing stay. There are plenty of better rentals available."

"The bathroom had a gas smell in the night and the toilet in room 215 was extremely difficult to flush . Tv needs a manual and couldn’t get standard channel on but room and view was wonderful. Staff short in breakfast area . Had to wait to get sat down . N still havnt got out toast . Food was lovely when we got it though . "

"A superb night away from home in a beautiful area. The Pheasant is immaculately maintained. The rooms are stylish and scrupulously clean. The restaurants, again, are beautifully decorated and the food is perfect. Staff are all friendly, polite and generally lovely. I can’t recommend this place too highly."

"I ended up staying 4 nights with the family. Perfect as we could make our own toast, stick a pizza in the oven and microwave milk for the wee one. Great location also, handy to train stations, Liverpool one and Albert Dock at the end of the road. 40 minute walk to Hill Dickinson for the game. Nice room for a family of 5. Staff helpful for any requests also. Thanks team"

"The room was perfect with complimentary drinks. The breakfast was disappointing, the ash browns were stone cold and the only option for eggs was scrambled and there was no tomatoes or black pudding. The staff in general were lovely apart from one member of staff in the sky bar who made us feel unwelcome on arrival because we hadn’t made a booking, bearing in mind that the sky bar was empty with only a few other customers. We would still return because we did enjoy our stay."
