Country House with Swimming Pond, Hot Tub and Glorious Gardens.

Model Farm is a country house consisting of an impressive Victorian front to a 17th century farmhouse and cider barn. The accommodation is all in one house, sleeping up to 27 in 11 bedrooms, 6 en-suite with 4 bathrooms. The Victorian area retains many of the original features, high ceilings with impressive cornicing, original fireplaces and stained glass windows. There are two large lounges, a dinning room and a new kitchen leading onto our Orangery function room, which can be used for dining, dancing or functions. There is also an additional kitchen/diner in the Cider Barn with table football table and just outside a large covered loggia with BBQ area suitable for outside dining.

Outside there is a log fired Scandinavian style Hot Tub seating 8 people, a 25m swimming pond, an outside kitchen next to our log burning pizza oven and several patio areas, with plenty of seating throughout the grounds. There are 4 acres of glorious gardens with large selection of different plants designed around being wildlife friendly, you will find plants of interest throughout all the seasons of the year. We also have a croquet lawn, football area, lots of outdoor games and ample off road parking.

We tend to specialise in large groups for the weekend normally for 2 nights, Friday and Saturday and you don't need to leave until Sunday afternoon if you wish. This is around 2/3 the price of a weeks stay. A 3 night stay or mid-week stay is also available. We are happy for all types of group to stay apart from very young adults and stag parties. We will also consider up to 3 dogs per group.

We have ample car parking and a free to use electric car charger, or it is a fairly short taxi ride from Bridgwater station.

Model Farm is situated in the hamlet of Perry Green only 8 minutes by car from Bridgwater, yet in the peace and quiet of the country. Junctions 23 and 24 of the M5 are only 5 miles away. The Quantock Hills are a short drive away and there are plenty of footpaths in the area with some excellent walking where you can visit the many pubs in the local area for a great lunch or dinner. The village of Cannington with its pubs and gardens is a pleasant walk away and also has a golf course, horse riding, paintball/laser shooting and an adventure climbing area.

Fantastic House for Big Groups

We had a lovely stay at Model Farm for a big family 80th birthday celebration. The house has lots of bedrooms most with ensuite facilities and there are plenty of rooms for eating and celebrating in. There was no shortage of glasses and crockery so you didn't need to keep washing up, everything you could need was provided. The grounds are beautiful and the pool and hot-tub an added bonus. You can access surrounding towns and beaches but you need to drive everywhere Bridgwater has lots of facilities like supermarkets but not for tourists, Glastonbury is stunning though and not far away.

70th birthday family get together

We were all very impressed with the place, for a huge property it was exceptionally clean everywhere and filled with everything you need. Bigger with some older style rooms, it gave a great feel for hide and seek. It provided a good base for all of us to hang out together whilst giving some space, great for games and a couple walks in the area. We really enjoyed our cold pond dips followed by warming up in the hot tub. This was already warmed up for us on arrival and lots of wood and starters provided for the week to keep it hot. The pizza oven was also a great hit, and David, his wife and the gardener easily available and friendly. Thank you!

Exceeded Expectations

There are just too many thing to list that we enjoyed. We booked this property for for Dads 80th Birthday supprise. The property more than catered for 19 of us with extrem comfort and space. The house and location was just beautiful with 4 acres of Garden to enjoy, along with the open water naterual swiming pond, out door eating area with wood fired Pizza oven and an amazing wood fire hot tub, just brilliant. Dave could not have been more accomodating, helping us hide the cars to suprise Dad, to arranging room layout the week before, even contacting us a couple days before just to confirm everything was ok and even allowed us to check in earlier than anticapated which really helped with the supprise. Would defiently recomended this property. Nothing was too much trouble. Had an awsome stay, thank you.

Beautiful house and facilities

Amazing house for a short weekend away with friends. We came for Easter weekend with a large group of 19 people. We ordered pizzas from the local pizza restaurant under David’s recommendation which made cooking easier and were great pizzas that arrived nice and hot. We did spot a mouse in one of the rooms however but as people who live in the rural countryside ourselves, it’s expected in these types of properties. Overall great stay and lovely facilities- amazing hot tub and we loved the outside swimming pond for a cold dip in the mornings!

Wonderful New Year Gathering

We spent New Year at Model Farm as a group of 18 friends and family. It was a wonderful experience from refreshing dips in the ‘swimming pond’, firing up the pizza oven and the hot tub, countryside walks to local pubs, as well as relaxing in the gorgeous glass roofed Orangery. The owner Dave is a gem, quick to reply to messages and on hand to give advice when needed. Highly recommended.

Fantastic venue

Had an amazing time, the building is fantastic and having so many bedrooms is so helpful when having a 40th birthday party. The livingroom and kitchen are bigger than they look in the photos and easily held 18 of us. The garden was massive and had all sorts of little areas to have a look at and sit in. The owner (Dave) is very friendly and helpful and gave us a good tour. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to hold a gathering or some away time with the extended family.

Christmas Holiday reunion

We rented the property for a family Christmas reunion. There was plenty of space for the children to play in the grounds and the location was great for family walks. The property had plenty of crockery etc for our group of 16.

Early 60th

Visiting from Australia to catch up with family from all over UK and wanted to gather in a single location. With 14 adults ages 17 - 87 and 2 dogs the accommodation worked really well, The property was clean and well serviced and Dave was incredibly helpful as unfortunately our check-in date turned out to be Queens funeral day. The Garden was beautiful and we played Croquet, Jenga and Connect 4 on the lawn. The local village was easy to walk to and had 4 pubs (only got to 3). The BBQ area was very well equipped (even for an Aussie) and the kitchen dinner accommodated us all very well. We never used the pizza oven or hot tub in the garden as time didnt allow. The property was also a good location for touring to places like Dunster, Taunton and the Quantocks. The bedrooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms / en suites clean and plenty of hot water. We all had a great time and many happy memories - thanks for the stay, really enjoyed it!

Model Farm - dream weekend away

Anna and I are so grateful to Dave and Ros for our stay at Model Farm with our friends as a 30th birthday gathering that turned into an engagement celebration. The communication was fantastic and they were so flexible when we realised that two of our friends could not come owing to COVID, and three more then said they could come late on. Dave even mowed the grass in an area of the grounds when we mentioned we were thinking about playing cricket one day! And Model Farm was beautiful, well-resourced and all the bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect. All of the personal touches in terms of providing us with local products were so appreciated. We would recommend Model Farm to anyone.

60th birthday weekend away

We all loved the cottage, it was perfect for a big friends and family get together. Living room is so spacious so we could all gather there for games and kitchen is also large for us all to eat breakfast together! Bedrooms are huge and very comfy and everything was decorated to a high standard and spotless! We had use of the orangery for the second night and that was perfect for our murder mystery evening which was hosted by Blackwatch entertainment. We would definitely recommend them, the actors were lovely and made everyone feel at ease! Dave the owner was amazing, happy to help us and answer any questions we had. I can’t recommend this place enough and all of us felt the same! Lovely grounds also and we very much enjoyed the hot tub! Thank you so much Dave, we will be back 😊

Hen weekend

We were a large party of 22 for a hen weekend and Dave couldn't have been more accommodating for us. The local area is stunning and instructions to get to the property made finding ourselves in the heart of the countryside very simple. We arranged for the local vineyard, Oatley, to come and give us a wine tasting experience and had the most incredible pizza from Perry Green pizza. The hen has had the best weekend and we can't recommend Model Farm enough
