"Very nice little room with everything we needed for one night's stay. The Manager was really helpful, including giving us a lift to the wedding evening do which was really appreciated. We were also offered a free breakfast which was a great touch. Its a lovely country pub with rooms. Woukd definitely return."

"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign.
I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. The bathroom was fine and the tea/coffee making facilities were...

"Extremely friendly receptionist and it’s so nice to be accompanied to your room rather than be left alone .
The hotel rooms are quite quirky with antique furnishings and our room had an oriental/ Asian flavour…perhaps some artwork over the bed would have made the room more appealing.The bed and shower were great and extremely hot water so that is a bonus.
We walked to visit Burghley house which is located behind the inn and is a must see.
