Rustic Log Style Chalet in the Heart of Gros Morne National Park!

Imagine. Enjoying your morning coffee while savoring the breathtaking view of the majestic Gros Morne/Long Range Mountains.

Woody Point is a beautiful and historic town nestled in the heart of Gros Morne National Park, on the western coast of Newfoundland. It has a beautiful waterfront with many heritage buildings and in 2010 was designated a Registered Heritage District. There are numerous excellent hiking trails in the area, some within walking distance.

Our chalet is a mere five-minute walk from local restaurants, coffee shops and the water taxi. It is a spacious, clean and comfortable two-story log-style chalet with a full wrap-around deck. The unencumbered view of Gros Morne Mountain and Bonne Bay is simply breathtaking! The sunroom, on the second floor is a great place to curl up, watch the sun rise or to sit back and enjoy the view at any time of the day. There is a wide variety of books on hand so feel free to pick one and do some reading.

This same spectacular view can be enjoyed from the wrap-around deck or while cooking on the stainless-steel BBQ.

Both washrooms have recently been renovated! The main floor washroom has a walk-in shower and the second-floor bath has a tub/shower combo!

The kitchen was also recently renovated and is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, dishes, pots & pans, coffee maker and coffee grinder. The comfortable eating area is located next to the kitchen.

With four cozy bedrooms that will comfortably sleep eight, it is perfect for a couples/family retreat or a romantic getaway. Three bedrooms have queen beds, the fourth bedroom (located on the main floor) has 2 single beds.

The living room has a cozy leather couch, love seat & chair. It also has an electric fireplace.

Laundry facilities was recently moved to the main floor.

Absolutely amazing!

Shawn and Sharon have a gem of a home. It is beautiful, comfortable, spotlessly clean and full of charm. There is everything you could possibly need or want, including a beautiful sun room on the top floor looking over Bonne Bay. It was quiet and peaceful but also close enough to walk into town. We loved our stay.

Beautiful location and accommodations

Large comfortable cabin, and very well stocked in general. Several spots to relax and enjoy the view, especially for sunrises. Hosts were very quick to respond and answered all questions. Would definitely recommend the spot, fantastic stay!

Bonne Bay rainbow

About the best place in Woody Point to look out over the water and Gros Morne, rain or shine, from a beautiful covered deck. Set us up perfectly, after a misty rainy day, to see the most vivid double rainbow of our lives when the sun came out in the late afternoon. Comfortable, rustic and with lots of spots for kids to sleep. We loved it!

Best house with a spectacular view

My husband and I had one of our best vacations ever here. The house has the most beautiful view of the bay. Plenty of room for a large family. The location of the house is also perfect for all the day trips and hikes you can enjoy. Woody Point has restaurants and shops and we enjoyed eating meals over looking the bay. If you want a great vacation off the grid this is the place to go!

Very clean, very well equipped large chalet with fantastic views. We were confused with the listed address first, Google doesn’t know it. Search for MJK chalets instead. We were very satisfied with the place and would come back anytime.

Gem of a rental!!

The chalet had all the hallmarks of a 5 star accommodation: situated in a quaint community, stellar views both on a large deck and then second glassed in 2nd level room. The interior had all the comforts of home, extremely clean and tidy. The kids loved the games and toys supplied. This property provides the perfect spot for a cozy, relaxing vacation or the perfect launch pad to explore Gross Morne National Park.

Oh that view!

What an absolutely fabulous time we had at Shawn and Sharon's home! The home was impeccably maintained and was extremely clean. I think it was probably one of the best stocked home we've ever stayed in. The kitchen was well equipped and there were also plenty of books and games. The views from the deck and the sun room were spectacular! It was an easy walk into the town of Woody Point. I would highly recommend this home! Thank you Sharon and Shawn for sharing your beauitful home with us.

Attention to detail

Wonderful experience. I was worried the views of the bay were doctored on the website but they didn't do it justice. The house is kind of a funky and fun design. It's immaculately maintained with lots of spots to lounge around or take in the beauty of the scenery. Its a 10 minute drive to the Tablelands park , a 5-10 minute walk from the quaint Woody Point downtown area . The hosts clearly put their heart and soul into this place. The place lots of unexpected surprises from the binoculars in the observation room to a well stocked library to a jar of whole beans and a grinder for making fresh coffee to bubble blowing toys gor kids. Hosts were great with communication also with lots of helpful emails. The few emails I sent were answered within hours and usually faster than that.

Spectacular view

This house really made it difficult to leave and go see the beauty of Gros Morne National Park because of the stunning view offered. My wife didn't want to go! When we did leave, the visitor center and Table Lands area was very close. Western Brook Pond was about an hour away, but we were all glad to make the trip back to Woody Point and return to this cabin. There were some nice restaurants along the waterfront nearby that made this ideal for us. We saw a small pod of Minke whales from the house one evening to add to the great views. The cabin itself is very large and we wished we had our family here to share it with. I can't recommend this place enough!

Great stay in Woody Point

We had a lovely stay in Woody Point. The cottage was well laid out, cozy with lots of amenities. We particular appreciated the extra touches such as a well stocked kitchen that included coffee beans and a grinder, printed information with the history of the area, local restaurants, nearby hikes etc... I have 2 recommendations. 1. Add a few hooks in the main floor bedroom. Since there is no closet space or room for a dresser, guests would have a place to hang up clothes. 2. Change the heading in the VRBO listing. The listing is now showing as being in Rocky Harbour. While the hosts told me in December that their cottage was in Woody Point not Rocky Harbour, since the listing was for Rocky Harbour, I assumed that Woody Point was a suburb and within "commuting" distance. Having driven the distance between Rocky Harbour and Woody Point several times during our visit (once after dark), I now know that is not the case.
