Comfortable beach house in the first row - vacation by the sea

You don't go to the beach here, you live on the beach: fall asleep with the sound of the sea, wake up to the sea as if you were lying on a lounger on the beach. Watch from the bed how the waves develop and how they break. Pure relaxation. Would you like a coffee, a tea or a breakfast? Always with a view of the sea from the open kitchen, from the living room couch or the terrace that leads directly to the beach. The beach is white and miles long, the sea turquoise and mostly moving - bathing fun with surf. On 350 days a year, summer and sun are here. H. Daytime temperatures between 23 and 30 ° C and water temperatures between 22 and 27 ° C. For water sports enthusiasts there is a Padi diving station nearby and several surf schools. If you want to try something different, rent a big bike for a bike tour on the beach.
The clocks are ticking slowly - NO STRESS is not just a saying for tourists, it is lived. Even the main town on the island, Sal Rei (6 km walk from the beach house or 15 minutes by car), looks sleepy and far from mass tourism. If you like it calm and easy, this is the place for you. The journey is relaxed: by direct flight from numerous European cities. Boa Vista Airport is small, luggage is quickly unloaded and the journey time to the beach house is only 10 minutes, so the vacation can begin without long transfer times.
The beach house is comfortably furnished with two double rooms with bathroom en suite, living room with open kitchen, terrace, garden and parking lot that leads into Praia de Chaves beach. The small town of Rabil is 1 km away and a dune further (300 m) is a wonderful bay with the beach bar / restaurant Perola de Chaves, where you can book half board. Time finally stops here because it can hardly be chillier.

Unterkunft mit Strandblick

Mein Sohn und ich haben hier wunderbare 14 Tage gewohnt und das Klima sowie das Wellenrauschen beim einschlafen genossen. In 20-minütigen Geh-Entfernung liegt ein hervorragendes Restaurant, dass wir empfehlen können. wir würden diese Unterkunft gerne noch einmal buchen.

Fabuleux séjour dans un endroit de rêve

La maison est idéalement placée au bord d'une magnifique plage, au calme. Un endroit paradisiaque à côté de Sal Rei.

Maximal 2 Sterne für die Unterkunft

Die Unterkunft versprach nicht den Erwartungen für ein Bungalow in diesem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Auch wenn der Gastgeber nicht vor Ort sein kann, muss in der Preiskategorie alles top sein. Die Möbel waren veraltet und abgewohnt. Genauso die Gartenmöbel. Keine Sitzgelegenheit die bequem war. Die Liegen wurden 2 Tage vor Abreise ausgetauscht. Die Zimmertüren ließen sich nicht schließen, weil diese völlig verzogen waren. Die Farbe blättert von den Wänden ab und an der Decke im Wohnzimmer ist ein riesiger Wasserfleck. Der fehlende Toaster und einige Müslischalen sowie eine etwas größere Schale wurde nach Reklamation relativ schnell angeliefert. Mitten beim Kochen des Abendessens ging leider das Gas aus. Die Gasflasche wurde nach ca. 2Stunden ersetzt. Die Spaghetti Aioli mit Scampis konnten wir dann wegschmeißen, weil diese zulange im Sud lagen. Die Lage der Unterkunft direkt am Sandstrand ist Perfekt. Das Bungalow werden wir definitiv nicht wieder buchen. Und die Aussage der Gastgeberin es wären nun einmal afrikanische Verhältnisse, wo man eben einige Abstriche machen müsste ist nicht korrekt. Es lassen sich auch andere Bungalows in selber Lage anmieten die einen absoluten Luxusstandard haben. Und das zum gleichen oder auch geringfügig höheren Preis.

Leben am Strand

Die Lage des Ferienhäuschens lässt sich nicht toppen. Ruhige Lage direkt am Sandstrand. Leider wurden die Liegen, die auf den Fotos des Inserats zu sehen sind, durch Holzliegen ersetzt. Die Auflagen bedecken nur 2/3 der Liegeflächen und sind auch sehr dünn. Das heisst, das Liegen auf diesen Liegen ist nicht wirklich bequem. Auch die Kissen auf der Bank aussen haben wir nicht vorgefunden. Im Schlafzimmer sind zwei Bettgestelle mit je 90 cm Breite aufgestellt. Leider liegt nur eine 160 cm breite, sehr harte Matratze darauf. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist eher dürftig und schon ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben nur 4 Kaffeelöffel und 2 kleine Schalen vorgefunden. Der Wasserkocher und auch das Löcherbecken waren rostig. Der Toaster hat gefehlt (wurde dann durch einen Sandwich-Grill, ohne Timer ersetzt), die Bratpfannen waren alle schon sehr alt und teilweise nicht mehr sauber zu reinigen. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin war leider im Vorfeld eher dürftig. Uns wurde zum Beispiel nicht mitgeteilt wie die Übergabe erfolgen wird oder wie die Kontaktdaten der Damen vor Ort sind. Wir haben dann das Appartment unaufgeräumt und ungeputzt vorgefunden. Dies wurde dann, nachdem wir uns bei der Vermieterin in Deutschland gemeldet haben, von den Damen vor Ort erledigt. Die Vermieterin war dann aber sehr darum bemüht, dass wir uns in ihrer Wohnung wohl fühlen.

Wonderful beachfront location, the house could do with some creature comforts.

The villa is in the perfect location for life on the beach, you step off the patio and you are in the sand, the sea only a little further away. If you love the sea this is the place for you. Be aware that it is very windy and the sea is rough so not safe for swimming. The house is comfortable but could really do with some attention. The kitchen is sparingly equipped, in the cutlery drawer there were some table knives, some teaspoons, 4 forks (yes, only 4!) and no spoons. Also a wooden spoon, a teflon lifter, a pair of broken scissors (literally split in two pieces) and one (!) kitchen knife also broken (the blade split from the handle). Plates, bowls and glasses were ok, and there was a bare minimum of saucepans and the like. There is a dishwasher but dishwasher tablets are hard to find so we ended up washing up, had we known I would have brought some. Honestly, the space of the dishwasher could be put to better use by putting a washing machine there instead. The only thing that stopped me from making a longer booking was the lack of washing machine. I pack few clothes, then wash and use again. The bathrooms also need some attention, they are clean and functional but could do with some accessories, small things like a toilet roll holder, a soap dish and towel rails. In their favour I would say that they have a good light over the mirror (a rare find in my many years of renting villas), plenty of water and a good hot water supply. The villa listing includes internet but there isn't any. You can easily buy a local sim card at the airport or in Sal Rei. We really enjoyed the whole feel of the island, small, no crowds, no rush. The locals are really friendly, they pass you on the street and say hello. If you pass them on the road while driving, they wave. The airport is one of a kind, half in the open air and a really original style of building. I won't spoil it, you will have to see for yourself but forget Gatwick and Heathrow! We would be very happy to return for a longer stay.........washing machine permitting!

Wunderschönes Haus direkt am Strand

Wir haben unsere Woche auf Boa Vista sehr genossen. Im Haus gibt es alles was nötig ist um sich selbst zu versorgen. Man ist direkt an einem wundervollen Strand. Transfer vom und zum Flughafen war inklusive! Für Verpflegung muss man mit dem Taxi nach rabil oder sal rei. Ein paar hundert Meter weiter gibt es eine tolle Strandbar mit deutsch sprechender Chefin Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht ist hier richtig!
