House sleeps 8 comfortably
- Master bedroom with 2 queen beds and ensuite bath
- Two additional bedrooms, each with 1 queen bed
- Additional full size bath and 1/2 bath
- Fully equipped kitchen with eating area
- Family room comfortably seats all
- Screened front porch with seating as well as back deck
Four acres of property with parking for cars and boat trailers. Inside garage parking for three vehicles or several motorcycles .
Public river access across the road.
NOTE: Private river access requires walking steep downhill trail to shaded area. Travel at your own risk. Very secluded and worth the walk. Path posted No Trespassing....for our guests only.
IMPORTANT FOR FISHING: We recommend the TVA Lake Info app for your phone. You can check daily water release schedule from South Holston Dam (10 miles upriver). Water release will take approx 3 hours to arrive in area in front of rental house. Between water releases, the river can be waded for fishing. We recommend children are always accompanied by an adult when at the river.

Stayed over race weekend

This place has EVERYTHING anyone could ask for while visiting the area . John and Penny are the ultimate hosts. the kitchen , living room bedrooms and baths are all comfortable and well furnished for all your needs . Make this your first choice while visiting the area . We plan on staying again next time we attend the races .

Bluff City Rental

This property was perfect for our stay of 4 adults. Everything was as advertised. Penny reached out several times during our stay to be sure all was good. The views from each room were lovely and the porches were perfect for drinking coffee. We will definitely return to this lovely home.

Absolutely Perfect!!

We stayed here with some good friends for race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. The house was just perfect for our two families. There was plenty of room and it was well appointed. We enjoyed and fire in the fire pit the first night, where we met the neighbors dog. He was so sweet and we all wanted to take him home. The house is conveniently located near the track. The area is very quiet, which we loved. We will be back.

Race vacation

We came down for the race to relax and to golf and did all three with comfort, the house is as pictured its quiet awesome veiws, we saw deer every evening had fires overall great experience.

Excellent Stay!

We stayed here for a week and had a wonderful time. The house was big and clean. The land and location were beautiful. The neighbour has an adorable and friendly dog that my daughters loved playing with outside for hours. Will definitely come back again.

Wonderful Place!

What a great place to be with your family. The house was spacious and very nicely furnished. The host checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. Loved the big kitchen and the views were incredible. Would highly recommend this house for a family getaway!

Great location and views

Had the pleasure of staying here over a BMS race weekend. Penny was easy to reach and communicative before and during the stay. The house is conveniently located (roughly 15 minutes to BMS with raceday traffic), was nicely equipped (including a snack basket!), and had everything we needed for our stay. WiFi was good enough to support a couple kids streaming with no issues. Would happily stay again.

Quiet Country Stay

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at John and Penny's property. It was so spacious, so clean, and had everything we needed. Only 15 minutes to Bristol and 20 minutes to Holston Lake. The best part was the view from the screened in porch as we watched a storm pass through. We are very grateful that we found their place to stay!

Family Wedding Trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and Penny was great at checking on us. We enjoyed the view from the porch and one of our party even caught a trout. We would recommend this wonderful spot to others!

Flyfishing vacation perfection in Tennessee

This is the second time we have stayed at Penny and John's lovely home on the banks of the South Holsten River in eastern Tennessee. The river is well-known for being full of trout and is considered one of the best flyfishing rivers east of the Mississippi. The home itself is spotless and spacious and up on a hill with views of the mountains beyond the river. My husband and I had a quiet, relaxing vacation fishing, reading, taking walks and roasting marshmallows under the stars. Be aware that the access to the river right across the road from the home is a bit of a steep climb, but there are other access points nearby and guides for the fisherman who wants to learn more about the river.
